I've listened to so many live versions of this song in particular... dat solo, fuck. Gets me everytime.

Mayer, Bonamassa, White, Trucks, I would say these are some of the best guitarists-songwriters of my son's generation just to name a few. Thank goodness you guys have some real musicians to carry on........

after that guitar solo what can you say but O MY GOD !

Wow that sound gave me Chill bumps! This guy has a way of capturing you with his Guitar Solo's. He has a raw original sound that's Electrifying to say the least.

Gravity- the center- the balance....keeps me in check. One of the best written! He is incredible!

I've seen lots of good guitar pickers in my time. but I haven't seen anyone that could play one know where close to how smooth John Mayer can. awsome with gravity.

he has to have played this song a trillion times. the fact that he can still keep it so fresh and not be complacent is incredible. no matter what he says in interviews, the guy will always be an incredible artist.

it's a shame he doesn't really use that strat much anymore, that tone was the jam

He's not using as much anymore because he had to get a new neck for it and basically said it wasn't the same

Michael Clement de Grandprey-Vaughan the neck was warped so he swapped it out but didn’t like it so he put the old neck back on and still plays it!

My favorite song, love "all" the different version's of it, listen to this song everyday, it is special

John is one of the greatest guitarists of this generation, noone can argue about that. As far as who the best is, I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to that man... Everyone likes and is inspired by different styles of playing. Bonamassa is on the same level of guitar playing as John for sure, I enjoy his playing too sometimes.. I haven't really heard a lot of Fusciante to be honest...

I seriously broke out in a sweat at the end. The passion for his music is unmatchable and very contagious. Whew! Cigarette anyone??

Love to hear you John over and over and over.... your music takes me to places so unbelievably beautiful. I love how you express that gift you posses in connecting music and our passion to the core.

I went to one of his concerts last summer, I loved how we could turn a 3 min song in to a 11 min one :D

The best live recorded version performance of Gravity hands down! So much going on with this performance it's crazy! NYC Baby!!!!

Still the most tragically underrated solo of his entire career. This tops the live in LA version by miles!

Have to disagree myself. The live in a la was in perfect harmony with the band. This is brilliant but it seems more of a showboat than part of the song

Maybe not best guitarist of this generation, best overall musician of this generation as far as I'm concerned...He's got the whole package, he's got insane guitar skills, singing skills, and what makes him stand out is his songwriting...just my opinion

it takes so much brain and skill to play such a solo on a guitar thats laying on the floor i can tell you that

The amount of emotion in his playing is what makes him so special. It's the look in his eyes as he plays that solo in front of thousands of fans. He is completely absolved in his music, and you can see it in his eyes. Thanks for reminding me of the dreams i have to remember John, and may you never forget your own!

Nobody brings out the trolls like John Mayer. All the haters come out and post their nonsense - tell us all how bad Mayer is... and yet, they can't stay away; they can't stop listening to John Mayer. Peculiar IMO.

Excellent performance, Mr. John Mayer.

Man, so fitting. You can tell his voice is so tired. His singing gives the feeling of struggling up against something. It's not as "quality" as usual, but his performance itself is a manifestation and example of the battle of man vs. force.

Best concert I've ever been to, such an amazing night even if it was such a struggle to travel in through NYC during the blizzard. Was completely worth it, that's how you close a show at MSG.
