Mackey is a success who makes the world better, unlike losers who complain about him.

The Rothbard comment is obviously in regard to the fact that the inevitable result of following "liberty" to its logical conclusions is "Voluntarism" or "free-market anarchism". Rothbard elucidated this point throughout his great scholarly career, eventually cementing not only his reputation as "Mr. Libertarian" but also the logical weight of his "anarcho-capitalist" system as well.

@herbs814 What he wrote was pedestrian, and is part of the basic graduate business curriculum. Or, at least it was way back in 1993 when I got my MBA.

@truevoice08 Oh I gotcha. Indeed, there will always be those who seek unjust advantage, and I believe that we would both agree that government at whatever level inevitably serves to provide that advantage to those willing to pay for it.

When I walk through Whole Foods all I see is masses of processed junk food (ie, chips, cookies, etc.) that have the image of wholesomeness stamped on them. The cheese on the pizza is so cheap that it made my little children almost vomit and they refused to eat it. And several times I have had my prices ring up at the register higher than the prices posted in the aisle. I'm.....shall I understate, skeptical...

I read Rothbard occasionally and haven't found anything that contradicts my previous comment. What are you talking about?

@GMT15 I know of those guys cause I subscribe to the Mises Institute. What I meant by capitalist is big business, not the THEORISTS like Hoppe. You misunderstand me.

@megamarsvin Yea, Calvin Coolidge would fit that term alot better of the first Laissez-Faire capitalist president. And ignore the whole roaring 20's thing, and the power of The U.S. economy in the 90's, because deregulation is a bad thing right? What Reagan's problem was, was his never ending advocacy for corporatism. That's the real problem most on the right and many on the left don't seem to identify with. Reagan was not the devil or something dude lol, He just worked for GE all his life.

@megamarsvin How you equate more government bureaucracy and taxation to be the answer to any economies problems, i may never understand. I do actually, but the process is inherently anti-market, so that dictates my oposition to that process. Unless of course you are regulating the right people. However you and I both see the problems: corporatism, bankers and HUGE firms manipulating money. I'm just saying more government isn't the solution, because it's the same ppl who are doing all this shit.

Truth and facts get in the way but easily cut through the nonsense: Our gov has not fixed their gov run health care (Medicare, the VA etc) so why would we the taxpayers even consider giving them total control over our health care system? More red tape for MORE money (tax dollars) with reduced and even a lower standard of services. I like the Whole Foods corp model of health Ins for their workers. Corp America should follow their example/s of HC - 5% giving - environment - healthy products..

A libertarian capitalist? That's very rare. Capitalists are likely to be anti-libertarian because they fear competition in a genuine free market.

What a load of crap. His stores are anything but "conscious." Instead of asking the con man, ask the people that work at one of his stores. I have, and their stories are much different than his fairy tale. And his daddy, not junior, built WFM.
