John Lewin Cross Examines Robert Durst For The Murder of Friend Susan Berman Part 1

Ойын-сауық

LIVE COVERAGE: Robert Durst Testifies Live For The Murder of Friend Susan Berman
Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened on May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

Sociopaths/narcissists are easy to spot if you are paying attention to the signs. I have enough information on this subject now, that it's easy for me to spot a potential sociopath. I've already come across 2 of them that is kind of close to me, I'll be keeping an eye out for them. The ones that I don't see often or once in my life, I don't even bother to care about. The ones I keep an eye out are those that part of my inner circle, who's either related to me, associated with my loved ones or friends, or those that I work with.

By far the best “poor, old man” act I’ve seen in a court room. My grandpa would play “elderly” when people would bother him selling stuff at the mall and similar yet he was an extremely intelligent and intellectual man. Soon as they’d walk away he’d smile, wink, and tell me to remember this because people treat the elderly like they’re stupid or less than. Aging alone doesn’t make you a totally different person! How many people in their 40s still feel mentally the same as their 20’s? How about people in their 60’s who still feel like they did in their 40’s? You are basically the same person from 20-90 minus a few personality changes, habit changes, etc., and of course the physical changes.

Yep. He’s definitely a master manipulator. No doubt he has health problems but he’s definitely not cognitively impaired. Your story of your grandpa reminds me of my ex mother in law. She was ultra independent, financially self sufficient, never “needed” a man except when it came to moving furniture, carry tubs of clothing etc etc. Then she suddenly became weak, not as strong as the big tough boys. She’d always wink at me & whisper that I should never let my husband, her son, know that I was strong enough to do manual labor. Lol.

He's been locked up since 2015. It takes a long time to go to trial. Also, investigations take a while as well. Both Kathy and Susan's cases were considered cold cases - although they suspected Robert Durst. When both cases were reopened, they started talking to witnesses and finding out more information. Then when The Jinx came around and the boxes were removed from Stewart Altman's house, they found enough physical evidence to connect the dots and arrested him in 2015.

  • @JEM471025

@@MissReneeMichelle Yes it was a combination of things. Susan Berman was the daughter of a mobster. And she helped Durst cover up what he did to Kathie in 1982. She faked an alibi for him back then and was his mouth piece to the press. Plus it got covered by a crappy investigation and bad luck that an employee in 82 claimed to have seen Kathy but came out in 1999 that he lied. And right when they were about to question Susan on what she knew about Kathy she was murdered as well in late 2000. Which pushed it back further.

3:02 Does he really have to answer these questions about 'how he feels'? That is bizarre and if I were him I would ask the judge if he must answer them. Then I would give either really long winded, medically technical and convoluted answers. How shameful of this attorney to take this advantage of an old feeble person, regardless his crime. It s not his fault that the NY DA did such a sh1tty job in 1982 when Ms. Mc Cormick went missing.

Also this trial wasn’t about Kathleen McCormick…it was about the murder of Susan Berman. Talk of Kathleen was let in because her murder/death pertained to durst’s motive. This doesn’t have anything to do with the NY DA…this trial is in California, where Durst murdered his “friend” and foot soldier, Susan Berman in the 1980s.
