John Lennon's list his favorite Beatles Songs

Спорт

The Beatles are widely considered to be one of the best music bands of all time, if not the best. The Liverpool four were able to fulfill a dream of a generation thanks to the passion of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who enlisted George Harrison and Ringo Starr for an extraordinary project. Each member of the band has their own personal tastes, regardless of the situation. What were John Lennon's top five favorite Beatles songs?

John Lennon was a singer, song writer, and performer. He was not a music critic. Some of the songs he did that he had low, or little regard for are some of my favorites. Songs like: Run For Your Life, And Your Bird Can Sing, and Hey Bulldog. Beatle songs that have a great, tight sound, and great singing parts, great backing vocals. Those are some of my favorites.

When you seem to effortlessly write very good to great song after song, after song, after song, one loses perspective. Any group now would love to have And Your Bird Can Sing or She Said She Said. Even if they had no meaning to John Lennon.

While Paul was writing "Hey Jude", the line "the moment you need is on your shoulder", Paul was going to throw it out. John told him that was the best line in the song. They worked well together. John and Paul were honest with each other. If they didn't like something in a song, they told each other. That's why they were brilliant.

I can understand why he chose these songs as his better ones. They are favorites of mine as well. I've heard him speak before about several of them. He tried so hard to express what he was really feeling in these songs, because he thought that's what true artists do. He didn't want to be just a poppy rock singer putting out lyrics that were only good for carrying a dance tune along. I'm sure that most of his fans understood this or felt it whether they knew it or not. That's why he was so beloved by his audience. Because they felt the same things within themselves and John gave voice to them.

He also confided that In My Life is the only song that came his heart. I was surprised that two early songs before Rubber Soul were amongst his favourites. Don't you mean Jann Wenner? Also, it's pronounced "Yahn Wenner", not "Jan Venner". He's hugely famous. He founded and remains the editor of Rolling Stone.

Yeah and he was a malignant leech who hated Paul. I can stand Jann. At the end of his life John grew to hate him. He sent him a picture of himself and Paul together in 1974 and wrote on the Polaroid “HOW DO YOU SLEEP?”

Always knew that John Lennon was a damn good writer when he would sing a song that was drawn me close and feel the song Paul McCartney and social but not as much as John without John Lennon I don't think the Beatles would have gone nowhere but thanks to the contributions of Paul and George and Ringo but when he met Yoko Ono his vision of music just went down the other way if he would have stood like he was before and never meeting Yoko Ono he probably would have never got into that political he would have still been writing great songs

I'd have to agree with the other guy. I think imagine was kind of unique and pretty good. What do you think comparing that with a pre 1967 song? What other group had all 4 members write a number song with the Beatles or post Beatles? Yep, even Ringo with some help from George

John would say today all the songs of peace and love seemed to have had little to no effect given the state of affairs in the world today. Maybe we should have sang about hate and war then maybe the wolrd would be a peaceful now.

"Girl" could not have been written about Yoko Ono as it was released on Rubber Soul in December 1965, having been the last song recorded months earlier for that album, and John did not meet Yoko Ono unto the summer or 1966.

Sarcastically speaking: There must be some truth to Paul McCartney having helped with the music/melody of 'Across The Universe'...note how John says the lyrics stand alone without the melody. end of sarcasm. But then again he praised 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' which he admits he wrote with Paul.
