Very entertaining discussion! Norman Maslov said it well... almost everyone will have access to the music at a reasonable price. The limited edition box is an art piece for serious collectors. Nothing wrong with that.

Joe I don't know how you can swing the Lennon Super Box set being retired. I am retired on a fixed income and I would have to give up Groceries and Gas for a few months to afford this set and I have no credit card debt , no car payment and my house is paid for. Taxes and Insurance is headed to the sky and I struggle just to get and 2 CD sets. Enjoy!

This is quite some news, and I'm wondering what Danny is going to say about you pre-ordering the set! I'm hoping that there will be a nice, not-so-expensive set for "Walls and Bridges."

I don’t have a vinyl player anymore otherwise I would buy the cube. I agree that it’s a great fixture to look at. Better than looking at wooded elephants or other junk ornaments.

You know, for all you get with the Super Deluxe Mind Games set, you're actually still getting good bang for the buck for the $1,300. It is less over the top than the 2021 All Things Must Pass with the gnomes etc. The George crate set was a joke when one considers the spiritual themes and bad remixing & remastering.

That's not a lot of money when you see what the John Lennon Estate is worth. I truly believe that this is a piece of Art that Sean & Yoko are offering John's Fans and people that appreciate the Art of John & Yoko, and the music of John Lennon. That's all this is all about. The John Lennon Estate will make more money with the regular box, 2 LP, and 2 CD sets.

If by "they" you are referring to the Lennon Estate, that isn't true. In fact, any time I've ever been surprised by a gift from them, they've never notified me in advance. And this livestream was only a few hours after my previous video.

Congrats Joe, but I can’t swing the price of the uber box so I’ll settle for the regular 6 cd deluxe box. I’ve been planning on that for months anyway. Also, it appears that the book coming out in September is in fact included in the uber box.

Mr Mayo plenty to choose from Mind games from Beatle john ! I was thinking more like $800 for super duper deluxe ultimate box set!!! It’s so happens I have the only copy of that in my home state! That’s a true fact! My father bought the imagine 8 track tape, which is the quad one to this day. I haven’t opened it since!!

I don't think discussion is about being able / wanting to buy the mega deluxe set, nobody forcing anybody to buy or not buy it and defending the purchase. I think the pricetag for this thing and RSD releases are part of the same picture which from my pov is the increasing of physical medium as elite product made specifically for the elite. For example: lotsa folk living paycheck to paycheck may be very interested to have this thing won't even begin to consider the purchase of the 'normal'6cd configuration.By not giving everyone within different layers of the economic spectrum a shot the estate shows its true colors. We already know the biz itself is mainly driven by revenue.

Supposedly the price is by the record companies, not the estate(s)? I don't know. What I do know is that I am not a member of the "elite", and I live retirement paycheck to paycheck - yet I'm scrounging so I can buy it.

@@MeanMrMayo I tried to place discussion into a larger context, not at all talking about whoever is buying the monster set, i have also scrounged to buy near unaffordable music. My argument is sets like these / RSD releases seem increasingly geared toward 'jewelry rattlers' which starts at analysing a target audience before production development. Love your channel bwt!!

Ultimately for me its about the music...as long as all the Mind games music is available on any format (I prefer vinyl but still love a cd) there is no problem. If I could afford the super deluxe then still not sure I would want it. Though happy for those that have gone down that road. Never an easy call. Have missed out on previous releases because they looked to expensive and that has proved a mistake (particularly the wings 1971-73 so called Big Barn Box) thats now totally out of my reach. I did jump for the McCartney singles box with no regrets .....I play the records ..thats what there for. There value is in the music not their resale price. Its tough getting it right ......I sold the Egypt Station Travellers edition suitcase because one week after its release all the music that was only available on that set was the released on the explorers edition. I'm now concerned that this will be the way things go and the Super Deluxe will be for those with deep pockets or those looking to make a profit
