Matt Atkinson gives my favorite Civil War lectures! My only complaints are: 1) he should do more of them; and 2) his time should NEVER be limited!! I love his small side tangents.

I love Addressing Gettysburg and I’m a Patreon member. It’s not “the only” Gettysburg Podcast though. I’m also a Patreon for The Battle of Gettysburg Podcast hosted by LBGs Jim Hessler and Eric Lindblade. They’re different formats and styles but they’re also both fantastic and deserve to be recognized :)

I love his southern drawl his snippets of humour makes good lectures and battlefield walks. Son and i from England spent one week at Gettysburg and made a point of introducing myself when i saw him behind the visiter centre information desk and noted and went to all his walks that week, excellent

Their was seemingly some Confederate sympathys inside the Ohio St.Pen, I was surprised Ranger Matt didn't expound on that.

Great presentation. I was in the old Ohio State Penitentiary back in the late 70s as a federal agent interviewing a prisoner. It was quite a place and a shame it was torn down years ago.

Although Morgan might have cut the RR supply line to Nashville by destroying the RR tunnels that doesn't mean that the Union troops supply line was completely cut-off. Nashville sits on the navigable Cumberland River which the Union Navy controlled. Grant took Fort Donelson in February 16, 1862 which resulted in General Johnston's decision to evacuate Nashville. The Cumberland River, which could only be harassed by Confederate forces, was controlled by the Union Navy and provided an amble supply line to the troops stationed in Nashville.
