Hey everyone. I’m Troy’s (Everyday Struggles) sister. I just wanted to let everyone know that he passed away last month. A couple weeks before he passed he got to see John and the rest of RHCP live. He was so happy and I was so so happy for him that he got to see John. He was also very proud of this compilation video. He loved RHCP. I miss him dearly. Rest In Peace brother.

yupp people tend to forget that Flea and his funky bass playing is a big part of how they got on the road to success. Yes John propelled them to the next level but put a mediocre bass player in there and it wouldnt be the same. at the end of the day i get those bass rhythms stuck in my head just as much as any other part of their sound. if not more.

@@FreakinRican6969 Every single RHCP fan should care. The best music came about when John was in the band, and THAT is why they are still playing today. John, Flea, and Chad are one of the best trios in music. I'm thankful to have been around since John's joining the band and old enough to remember it as they were hitting it big. I've seen them in concert many times and the best were with John. Josh K. can play well but his backing vocals and improvisation while playing live just does not compare to how great John was while in RHCP. No worries, I still bought the 2 CDs that they released with Klinger and do enjoy some of the songs. When they come near where I live, I still go see them because I'm still a fan of the RHCP. Peace.

As a recovered drug addict, i myself went through a hard time with therapy and depression, but now i just did my first lecture to a group of patients. I was so nervous, but i felt it did something with other people. That is a rush as strong as drugs itself.

Right now he just got out of jail from possession of LSD, Xanax and Percocet and is in a halfway house in a different state (because he got arrested in a different state)! He now has a felony and no one will rent an apartment to him without being out of jail at the very least a year! It's very sad and it breaks my heart! I attend ALANON meetings to help me cope and knowing I am not the only parent out there going through this! I pray he doesn't relapse! @@MienemLeben I have been clean for almost 4 years now, and i take one day at a time. Try to be happy with the small things. Everything i do is done because i choose to. Like everything in the past. My advice to every parent is: dont judge too hard. Addiction is an illness, your child is a victim. Try to stay on the good side of him. I know he will make mistakes for sure, and there will be fights. But if you keep talking you can create an open vibe in which both can make mistakes and in which both give and recieve compliments. If you just forbid everything and judge it there is no room for learning and learning means error. Good luck to everyone.

If it's any consolation to John, this has far more impact than words ever could in cautioning against heroin use. It reduced a musical giant to rubble, a brilliant mind into a bumbling, scab covered lunatic. And this is someone who could afford a heroin habit, so at his worse he was better off than the average junkie. Don't do heroin, kids. Thankfully he survived the ordeal.

It's more the addiction and trauma their trying to escape than the drug itself. There's lots of people who use drugs recreational or social who don't become addicts. Their brains aren't deficient in dopamine the way an addicts brain is. To create a world free of drug addiction we must protect children from becoming damaged but sadly that seems impossible these days. 😔

Frusciante's story really reminds me of like... a sort of fallen superhero type of a story. Really soaring and falling so far deep - beyond self darkness to a deep deep depth far down - And then rebounding and soaring back to the light - coming back and beating himself in the depths of his darkness and coming out so strong and vibrant. Really wished he would of stayed with the RHCP - but I guess sometimes you gotta take a different step in a new direction to explore yourself. I guess his story tells us that you can beat all odds and take matters into your own hands and move yourself forth no matter what you've been through. FRUSCIANTE FOR LIFE!!

Every time I watch some of the "dark years," I thank god Froosh is still with us. I have seen people look healthier than he did and DIE! I'm an ex-addict/alcoholic and currently a counselor. I've seen and heard damn near everything. I'm a bit unconventional in that I'm FOR the legalization of all drugs. I also believe in moderation, various drugs definitely enhance creativity in any form. However, someone like me (or John) cannot use "moderately." We will take, shoot, drink until the shit is gone. There's no such thing as saving some for later. Ha! Like I said though, so glad John is still here amongst us! (I've been clean/sober going on 9 consecutive years.)

Wow this is what I was looking for....very well made. IMO John has to be one of the greatest guitarist of modern times. His music changed so much after he came back from that dark period. Less punk more 70s vibe & embellishments. I got introduced to chilli peppers in early 2000s, John's tone sticks out and influences almost every song thereafter.

JF is one of the few true artists. He doesn't give a fuck about any of the bullshit - he has no ego to feed - if he did he'd have stayed in the band. People with an ego would care that footage of themselves in poor health was circulating on the internet. People with no ego (and sufficient money) do not. It's great that a guy like him can pursue his art as he sees it for as long as he lives and he'll never have to defile himself living on some else's terms.

John Frusciante is nothing but a very talented being who doesn't even recognise his own mark in the world & from someone who had contributed in making one of the biggest bands aka RHCP, he is very humble about his presence in the whole set up. As it was mentioned by Keidis he operates in his own little world, he doesn't drive, he doesn't own a credit card, he's not hung up on money, he just lives for the music. That's very rare these days through any known talent & I envy that over anything, I salute you John. I'm so thrilled you came out the otherside of addiction & please never disappear, carry on the good work as the legend you are ....... 👌👏

Any competent singer would be able to follow John's playing there, but Anthony doesn't function as a vocalist that has to sing in key when he's brought out of his comfort zone. Great front man, great lyricist, but a mediocre singer. I don't think there's any doubt John knew exactly what he was doing and hung Anthony out to dry there. Without the screeches and yells it would've been hard to tell that John was intentionally fucking it up for the band.

Ask yourself why people who have hip replacements and other surgeries, and given iv diamorphine (heroin) often don't become addicted but people who use opiates to escape past traumas /self medicate do? It's not about the drug it's about the drug addicts brain and their deficiency in dopamine. Look into the rat park experiment and how drug addiction happens. I do believe opiates are way overused and over prescribed and shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary like all drugs but in order to help addicts and prevent more people from becoming addicts, everyone needs to understand it completely. I believe everyone knows someone who's life has been effected by drug/alcohol addiction. I hope one day in the future a world will exist where no one becomes an addict.
