@I'm All Abroad The song has been used in a charity campaign about domestic violence in recent years but originally was written as a political song about standing up and making a difference in the world. About making your voice heard on important social issues. And yes, domestic violence is one if those issues but it wasn't written about that in particular...

Parents work hard and make big sacrifices to bring up us, their Kids, so how dare we disrespect that, to pull a gun on anyone, let alone use one. We need to speak up to make a difference, even only one person at a time. If a lot of us can agree, we have the power to make real change. Every aussie knows this song.

@@withinjapan2024 John Farnham didn't even write the lyrics to that song, 3 British people did and it was written as a political statement. In fact they originally didn't even want Farnham to be the one to sing it. So maybe you should look into the history of the song. It was used a few years ago for a charity campaign about domestic violence and Farnham supported and took part in that. And I never once said I think it should be our national anthem. I don't, so please read the comments properly. I'd also like to know what article you read that states Australia is the no1 country in the world for female abuse, can you share? Recommend the live recording done at the Aussie Music Awards "John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes - When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". You're The Voice Lyrics We have the chance to turn the pages over We can write what we want to write We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older We're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah This time, we know we all can stand together With the power to be powerful Believing we can make it better Ooh, we're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son, oh How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah Ooh, we're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah (We're not gonna sit in silence) We're not gonna sit in silence (We're not gonna live with fear), oh, woah You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah

This is a great one from the same concert too: IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANT TO ROCK N ROLL kzread.info/dash/bejne/aWeMwdyYqrqag8o.html Also same concert: YOU’RE THE VOICE kzread.info/dash/bejne/aKFmz8FyhczQo9I.html Also sang DARE TO DREAM from Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony with ONJ - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKt9yM-MXbPTnA.html (note you may need to alter a VPN setting to Australia to see that). This is good too - the 2.5 hr concert with ONJ and our Phantom from Phantom of the Opera (Anthony Warlow):- THE MAIN EVENT kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5hht7WKdMiflMo.html A bit on John - Born in the UK in 1949, came out when 10 to Melbourne Victoria, Australia. Same sort of history as Olivia Newton John, who was born in the UK in 1948 and came out when 5 to Melbourne. Both worked in the industry in Melbourne in the 1960's and eventually Olivia ended up back in the UK and then the US. John became the King of Pop with the 1967 hit ‘Sadie the Cleaning Lady.’ John had his chances to work in the US but wanted to live in Australia. He is now in his 70's and sadly went through a 12 hour operation for throat cancer losing part of his jaw back about the same time his dear friend Olivia died in August 2022.
