These two are Australian legends and like you said their voices combined is making magic happen. Jimmy Barnes was the lead singer of a group called Cold Chisel for a while. I like when John and Jimmy sing a Cold Chisel song together called “when the war is over”. John Farnham is the voice, they also call Steve Perry the voice he is worth checking out bro he used to sing for a band called “Journey”

Barnes has a daughter that did a fine duet with him and It's on KZread and he has a son who sings too but does not has the surname Barnes. Enjoying the reactions to our Aussie icons. I'm 64 and all the memories. Whispering Jack album sold the most albums ever in Australia unless another beat it.

That guitarist is baby Diesel and he's just as much a soul baring singer as John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes... I remember that night on Hey Hey its Saturday. My entire family gathered around for that performance alone. It's a rare treat seeing the three of them together like that and it does our Aussie spirits well when they sing like that. That lack of instrumentals at the end was paying homage to the lyrics and that soul baring way that those three always had together there is chemistry and then there is real soul deep chemistry and those three together had something beyond soul bearing chemistry. I dont know a single Aussie who doesn't stop to listen or watch when those three are together lol. Even though its a clear collaboration its just three mates coming together for the heart of music and letting it shine in the most spiritual way possible. I dont think any of us will forget the night that we realized something was wrong with John Farnham... he was in some serious pain singing. I know a few of us caught it in his last few performances when he's come out of retirement to help raise money for charities. But God seeing that spark in his eyes when he knows the crowd will pick up where he can no longer carry the full weight of his own lyrics still does something magical to the rest of us.

I discovered your channel today, and have binged on your love of Jimmy and Aussie music. I'm a Finnish-born Aussie and am finding a few reactors but none who love Jimmy like you do. I subscribed.

Diesel the guitarist was a star in Australia as well. Had an unfortunate issue with a well-known & loved journo & unfortunately broke both careers. Jennifer Kyte was very much liked also. Dumb things people do.

The guy playing the guitar is Johnny Diesel he is the lead singer of his own band called Johnny Diesel and the injectors. I suggest you try right on the tip of my tongue. One of Diesels best.

The 'H' is silent in John's name - it's pronounced 'Farn-nim' but say it fast. Also, Jimmy was a rock singer with a MASSIVE Aussie band called Cold Chisel - you should check them out, if you haven't already. Jimmy sang a song with Michael Hutchence (INXS) called 'Good Times' you'd love it! !Jimmy has a very diverse voice. Also, the guitarist who does the solo in this song is a man called Mark Lizotte but his stage name was Johnny Diesel. His band was called 'Johnny Diesel and the Injectors' He later went onto marry Jimmy's sister in law so he is now Jimmy's brother in law. .

Swanie was also in a band called 'The Party Boys' who sang a song called 'He's gonna step on you again' Jimmy's daughters were also kid stars who had a little group called The Tin Lids' but now his daughter Mahalia Barnes is a singer and also a back up vocalist. She has a beautiful voice. My mates call me the walking Aussie music encyclopaedia lol I just love music but it also helps that I'm a DJ and a singer myself.
