You have just discovered an Australian national treasure John Farnham , Farnsey as he is known by all Aussies has been entertaining millions of fans since he started his career in the late 60s as a teenager . He toured America as the front man of The Little River Band but didn't like being away from his family and country . His biggest hit worldwide was YOUR THE VOICE which you will probably know when you hear it . Reacting to an Australian artist has opened a door to a host of extremely talented artists you might not have heard of , but its a fact that we punch above our weight when it comes to entertainers ,ACDC, THE BEE GEES, OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN KEITH URBAN just a few you would recognise and there's a whole bunch more for you and your subscribers to enjoy , you have my subscription in anticipation of a lot more Aussie content .

Sorry Tom... I don't think John Lennon did say that. I've seen the claim made before and looking it up doesn't bare much fruit. If you can give an actual reference to the claim that would be amazing, but I couldn't find it. I think the mix up is in the fact that Lennon made a comment about how when he wrote the song he imagined it to be slower than The Beatles recorded it. Since Farnham's redoing of the song is in fact slower and more dramatic there might be some confusion. Even though the song came out in 1980, we don't really have any evidence that Lennon ever heard it. Sorry if I mooshed your vibe on that. 🙂

When you have an Aussie rock legend beginning to sing a Beatles song with just a pianist and the symphony orchestra slowly joining in and you see a harpist and a glockenspiel you realise that this collaboration is just perfection. The haunting sounds of the saxophone towards the end with all John’s power on display … no words can describe our love of him. The entire concert is perfection and the inclusion of bagpipes in “Your the Voice” sets it apart from everyone else.

There's not many artists with such longevity but John has fans of all ages and sings so many different genres that there's something for everyone. We all love him to bits as he is such a humble human being. I'm still not sure he even realises what a huge super star he his. Even in his 70's he was still packing out venues. This was an encore after more than two hours of that voice. John always refused to leave until he thought everyone was happy and then he told us to be careful going home. Live is best because he is a showman with a one of a kind voice. He is funny and humble, he is Australia’s family and so is his family and his best friend and managers family. He really is something really special. Richard Marx said he is the greatest living voice anywhere. He isn’t wrong, so far Richard has identified 16 different genre’s of music that John sings naturally including Opera. He never had a lesson but the first twenty years of his career were horrible. John’s Biography Movie is being released today. I saw it on Mother’s Day and I cannot wait until that DVD is released. That venue in Melbourne John sold out more than 90 times in his career and that is just one City. The Orchestra love playing for him and by the time his show is over he has usually introduced everyone. He has never put himself above anyone else on the stage and he still gets surprised when a famous person knows him. He got emotional when Celine Dion sang his biggest hit and told him she has always been his number one fan. The list of greats he has been in concert with is long and they all came here. If you want to hear a beautiful ballad then try Burn For You. Or please don’t Ask me, it was a solo but the version from the Main Event concert with Olivia Newton John is really good. If you want funny and Opera then John and Anthony Warlow singing Granada at the main Event Concert is so good. John started out in the 60’s and he hasn’t sung since he was 70 because Covid arrived. He will be 74 on July 1st. He had a number one album in five consecutive decades. He has given us more than enough. We are just excited that he is getting well and is home with his family. Thank you.

Hi guys, so nice to find this channel....liked and Subscribed. This song is a Beatles classic that was a fast paced pop song. John slowed it down and made it his own. Even John Lennon had said he liked this version better. John is an Australian legend. A brilliant artists who can sing any genre. I hope you check out the other songs from this concert as it a treasure trove of incredible songs and performances. His world wide hit "You're The Voice" is great too. This was actually one of 3 encores after a 2 hours show ..they wouldn't let him leave lol. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra never had so much fun lol.

John Lennon wrote this song as a slow ballad similar to this, like his songs Hey Jude with the Beatles, and Imagine. It was the Beatles record label that pushed for it to be changed into a fast paced rock song, like a lot of their previous hits. So it’s natural Lennon loved this version.

I was never a fan of Johns music. To be honest, in 1966 / 67 up to the 1980’s I HATED his music but I liked John himself. lol Anything live by John is pure gold, with the MSO as well as his loyal band and back up singers, it is gold studded with diamonds. In this concert he covers AC/DC and there is a audio only video of his warm up and sound check song..... a cover of Led Zepplins Black Dog. Both are done as rock songs with the orchestra and in my opinion, his live Black Dog warm up is almost as good as Led Zepplins recorded version and better than any of their live versions. Long Way to the Top ( AC/DC ) is better than AC/DC and live.

This is a reworked version of The Beatles classic 1965 title song for the movie Help. A friend showed John Lennon the 1980 performance by John Farnham, and John Lennon was heard to say "This is how the song was meant to be sung". Apparently, before his death later that year, he did his own version of this performance.

Fabulous reaction. You have a new mountain of songs to react to now that you've entered the John Farnham rabbit warren. I've watch this video since it was on VHS. His voice is enthralling. He lives every song and brings them to life. You will love When the War is over, also live in Melbourne, When Something is wrong with my baby, with the equally iconic Jimmy Barnes, then Please dont ask me, live with the legendary Olivia Newton John. Different genres but similarly jaw- dropping. Thanks loads for this one. Just subscribed

John is an Australian icon and has so many great songs and performances from late 60’s til present, well near present anyway. This concert with help was an epic concert and all songs during were great and would be great to react to. Some stand outs are you’re the voice, it’s a long way to the top(AC/DC cover) which was amazing. Any song performed by John is great, he puts his heart and soul into everything he does, but whenever you listen to him try to do it to live performance where possible, he is amazing live and does some great duets with various artists. Enjoy the journey.

Our John! Growing up listening to Tom Jones and holding him so highly, John has sung in his presence on a couple of occasions and seemed almost 'humbled in the great man's presence'. Alas, held his own and almost claimed the same air. The world needs to hear more of this man now in the autumn of his career and recovering from cancer. Long live OUR John!!!
