Farnham is the Christopher Walken of music. Whatever song he sings, even poor ones, is worth listening to.

+Michael Tarnpoll I always saw John Farnham as Australia's equivalent to Rod Stewart (UK), or Michael Bolton (USA).

I love this song. I've always been curious about the lyrics though, they seem to relate, at least allegorically, to the betrayal of Jesus: The first verse: - come betray me with a kiss (Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss) - rope enough to hang yourself (Judas hung himself) The second verse: - the truth you would deny me, you're lying like a rock (the name Peter means "rock", Peter denied Jesus 3 times)

I'm searching for the anger Consider it a gift Open up that window Come betray me with a kiss You have won if nothing else Rope enough to hang yourself What is that to us? Go beyond the call of love And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls At the touch of mercy's hand The truth you would deny me Lying like a rock How you gonna wake up To the one that you forgot? Cover up was your intent Acting like it's accident Isn't it enough? Go beyond the call of love, oh And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls, hey At the touch of mercy's hand Someday when hearts grow stronger I'll know where darkness wandered But I won't wait much longer Go beyond the call of love, oh And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls At the touch of mercy's hand Go beyond the call of love And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls At the touch of mercy's hand Go (go beyond the call) of love, oh And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls At the touch of mercy's hand someday when hearts grow stronger (And beyond the dreams of man) I'll know where darkness wandered (I have seen where glory falls) (At the touch of mercy's hand) yeah Go beyond (the call) of love (And beyond the dreams of man) and beyond the dreams of man (I have seen where glory falls) I have seen where glory falls (At the touch of mercy's hand) Go beyond (the call of love) Ooh (and beyond the dreams of man) I have seen where glory falls

2:26 - Pellegrinis See "Sisto Malaspina" and the "2018 Melbourne stabbing attack" - Wikipedia Why that caught my eye... Genesis 10v25 - KJV "And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was **PELEG** ; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan." It is believed that the Earth "divided" just after the Global-Flood. The Continental-Crust has a greater than 99% fit together on a 52% smaller earth that does not have any Oceanic-Crust present as it formed in the time after the division of the Earth. What does that mean? The Earth miraculously expanded against the effects of gravity and disbelieving Geologists invented "Subduction" to counter such a claim. Although (as I understand it) John Farnham does not believe in God, ...I do believe the lyrics of this song have some spiritual content... "Go beyond the call of love, oh And beyond the dreams of man I have seen where glory falls At the touch of mercy's hand" God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is (was and will be) a merciful God, Saviour and Comforter. For an interesting read about John's spiritual side refer to the following article: "MOMENTOUS MONDAYS: INFLUENTIAL ARTISTS OF ALL TIME - WEEK 65: JOHN FARNHAM" Regards Mark Graeme Chiswell.
