Hell I didn’t know half the time so our middle linebacker Andre Royal (he went on to play at Alabama) would have to tell me every play “right side, left side, you got the out route, hot route, your blitzing, pick up the back in the back field” just on and on! Elway was an amazing quarterback. And he struggled his first 4 seasons. If he was in the NFL now he would have been benched and traded. Nobody gives these young quarterbacks time to develop. Look at Baker Mayfield. He is doing amazing things now. Because he knows the game. Took a few years. You have to have patience and the league is all about results now.

Not an Elway or Sharpe fan. They terrorized us in the 80s and 90s. Then us fans took charge by crowd noise at Arrowhead let Shannon tell you about that. The ref threatened to throw a flag on us fans for how loud we were and Elway was looking at the ref begging for the crowd noise to get lower instead we got louder, hindsight being 20/20, that's how they put in audibles is from that game and silent counts
