JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: all I can think of
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: Hello my name is * * I have been a technician with John Deere dealerships for 18 years and it's my pleasure to assist you today
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: What model Deere are you having trouble with today?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I can't remember the model, it's pretty old, 42", you just press the pedal for forward and reverse.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: The engine is a Kohler, model CV491S, spec 27509,
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: After the engine dies, will it start back up immediately or does the engine have to cool off first?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: has to cool
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I also took a compressor and blew out under the flywheel but there wasn't really anything there but some dust
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: I suspect that your coil stops producing spark after it heats up.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I put a new coil on it this afternoon and it didn't help
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: If I choke it when it starts cutting out, it will sputter on a little while.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: If I disengage the blade where there's no load on it, it will go a little longer but only if choking it.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: I just saw where you said the fuel line was sucked closed.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: You may simply have a collapsed fuel hose that needs to be replaced
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Didn't know if you preferred this or text: The one that is collapsed was one I just replaced.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Probably a flimsier tube from an auto parts.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: It was doing this before I replaced it.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I'd wondered if it could be something between the tank and the fuel filter.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I'd just focused on things near the motor since it only does it after I've made a few laps around the yard.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I did loosen the gas cap because I'd read where it could not be venting.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Didn't help.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: I'm thinking there may be some sort of restriction I the fuel lines.anywhere fro the pickup tube in the tank to the filter.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: Do you have a way to blow air backwards into fuel lines towards the tank?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I can disconnect the line at the fuel filter but not sure how best to blow back.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Just blow on it with my mouth?
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: You will need something stronger, like an air hose.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: just press the end of a blow gun attachment to it?
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: That correct.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: Thatbshould clear any blockages.
EricN910: Small Engine Technician: Therebisbalsonthe possibility that the rest of the fuel hoses from the tank to the filter could be old and collapsed also
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I'll check that out tomorrow.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Thanks for your help.
