Come in handy for my Trimmer, looking forward to the adjustable JD 3rd function flow.

I really appreciate your innovation. I agree with some of the other comments that there are a lot of ways to do things. If there’s enough space for the logic portion, perhaps a three-way on-off-on switch would be good: momentary-off-latching. One of these days I’ll have some $$$ set aside, LORD willing!

Another option to consider is a simple circuit at the end of the existing wiring. Use of a set of latching circuits, you could have that button be a latch that then looks for another input. Such as the directional button. With proper wiring you could still support reversing of the valve and auto resume of the other direction. Pressing the button again will cancel all flow. This could also be wired so that in even of ignition off (or other emergency shutdowns) it goes to a neutral state.

Agree and I have a schematic built using latching relays, but it's obviously more complex than this approach...but it has its advantages. That said, I hadn't thought about using the 3rd button to "activate" the latch and then wait for another directional input. I definitely like that idea, but sounds like it might need a micro controller, which isn't an issue necessarily, but will require more space than what is afforded in the current handle. As mentioned in the video, for the HydrosPlus 3rd function, there will be more buttons and I'm still deciding the best location for those. It will likely have the latching relay approach because I will already need a housing for the potentiometer. Thanks for the comment! Very helpful!

Ok I found the part numbers for the joystick handle and ordered them. They do not include the gray membrane or white spacer, as that is part of the switch wiring and does not appear to be available separately from the entire 3rd function handle kit ($360). Maybe add your own membrane and spacer to your switch Kevin?

ive got a 2020 1025r, and also have the john deere 3rd function setup like your showing minus the continous button i wouldnt mind getting once you get a hole for them in the center....what ive been wanting is your hydro setup the hooks to your top link on your rear....ive got the power beyond, but have been wanting the lines that go from your front 3rd function that goes to the back hydro connectors and the bracket to hold them on the rear like you have.....

lva13698 is a much better handle. Same control but feels better in the hand I think.

Would that be possible to be used to actually turn on or off the third function valve? So that way you could turn it off in case you accidentally hit a button while driving with load or while off the tractor and don’t want other people messing with it? Not sure if my question makes sense.

Your question makes sense. I didn't want to add that complexity because if you add it, then you have to deal with the inverse, which is trying to turn on continuous run and it doesn't work because the safety is "on". If it was very easy to accidentally hit and there was some dangerous effect if you did hit it, then it would make more sense, but in the case of the 3rd function, your tractor will just act funny until you realize what happened. Similar to not plugging in the power beyond completely or a loader connection. If that happens, it's puzzling for a minute, but then you rectify it and continue.

I don't mean to be ignorant, but I'm having a hard time seeing the useful function of this. Are there certain functions you want to continue holding it?

This is for continuous run hydraulic implements like the HydrosPlus Auger+, or a broom, power rake, etc.
