Boy does that 750 bring back bad memories! I worked for a deere dealer back in the late 70's and used to set these 750 transmissions up, had 1 so screwed up you could put in forward and it would make a large circle and come back to where it started, put it in reverse and it went in the opposite direction and made another circle, at different speeds it different things! Those 750's are the reason I can't hear today from the screaming of the hydrostatics! PLEASE, PLEASE WEAR HEARING PROTECTION!

I'm here in NY and was debating to buy a crawler for under scrap price that is nearly the same year model 750 as that one and it also has similar trans issues. Undercarriage is near band new about 90 and it had a recent engine overhaul. I can't beat this deal, and know a fellow farmer friend with a clutch adjustment tool. I just gotta put in some hard work. Gonna buy it and follow your video. Warren you're a life saver man..much appreciated for uploading these videos you're definitely helping us with them!

This brings back memories about 750 & 750B dozers the drives on those machines were a big problem even when you thought you had all the pressures right you could never get them to track straight i worked on a bunch of them over the years they were nothing but trouble, when the C series came out with 51 series sauer danfoss motors & speed sensors they were a little troublesome not like these piles of shit, I replace speed sensor rings all the time in Danfoss motors guys screwing the speed sensor in too far & screwing up the ring.I do remember this on the 750 & the 750B if the splitter box on the back of the engine was low on oil it would cause it to loose tracking power there is a dipstick on the left side behind the engine it might not be the problem but you should check the oil level.

Is there a brake valve Warren? Seen something about brake valve directs transmission charge pressure oil to release brakes and close transmission bypass, if it drops below 100psi the valve will direct parking brake pressure to sump. Just when you said something changed....brake pedal pressed maybe? Adjustment needed there as well?....might be way off track here Warren 🤣👍

Really enjoying the vids and comments, especially on the JD 750B and 310D, since I have both. Lucky me, they're both down at the moment for different issues. Being as they're small farm use only, it's not a major issue. Currently in the process of getting the 310D up and going again... hydraulic leaks, a CAT tech who decided he could tinker with it and lost some parts, and a host of other things to fight will make this "fun".

Uuuggghhhhh, Warren,..... I feel for you BRO with that Dozer. I was a hydraulic Mechanic working on heavy construction equipment for 10 yrs (1980-1990). Your Dozer issue brought back a few memories. I have 2 suggestions for you: 1- Does that model dozer have a trans-brake? (I never worked on Deere, just Fiat-Allis & Cat).If so, the trans-brake won't let any oil to the control valve. Kinda works like a neutral safety switch in a car, only with hydraulics. 2- ANYTIME you have "0" pressure that is a tell-tale. Hydraulic fundamentals tells you it's spring pressure vs. hydraulics. "0" pressure at your P test sites tells you there is nothing going to the control valve. We had seven 275B&C model Michigan wheel loaders, and every time there was no pressure to the control valve it was a bad port relief in the "Husko" valve. The Husko was between the pilot control valve and the MAIN control valve. (I was lost like you on the dozer for hours scratching my head while the old head mechanics watched and laughed.) It was a right of passage- I passed,.... they clued me in after seeing my utter frustration. That "memory," was the Fiat-Allis. Torque converter went on it. 1st day we towed it back to the shop and troubleshot it, pulled the ROPS cab, battery boxes, and belly pan. (I was tiiiiiired!) 2nd day we pulled the floorboards and got to it,(it rained ,-all day!) I still remember how tired and wet I was. ugh.

Hey Warren, when you mentioned the tank return being capped on the valve it got me thinking about all the auto function ports and shuttles. One position is function, one is neutral, and one is return which means that there has to be flow in order for those return circuits to function properly because they are actuated by a certain amount of pressure if I'm understanding the directions properly. My instinct is to track the pressure and flow starting at the main pump and see where the initial pressure drop and flow increase happens. If all of the auto circuits are pressure sensitive then wherever the first fluctuation is would suggest the beginning of the issue. However, like most of these newer machines, a blocked circuit could also trigger a false reading because the sensing flow is stopped. The 5, 6, 7, 8 no pressure reading suggests a complete open circuit somewhere because you have nothing at all. If the circuit was leaking off, there should still be some kind of pressure reading, especially if the testing pressure is only 300 psi because the volume of fluid flowing through the circuit should automatically create at least 25-50 psi just moving through the system. Unfortunately I am not familiar with these newer auto valve systems, but fluid dynamics should help you find that drop off point and perhaps expose what is supose to initialize those pressure circuits. You know how some of the drive systems have to have the whole system hydraulically charged before they engage? It almost seems like one of the auto vales is not sensing or maybe not getting the pressure it needs to energize the system. When the test pressures are only a few hundred psi, doesn't that suggest whichever circuit is responsible for engaging the system might be at fault?? For example; the safety switch on an auto trans or manual will prevent engagement if it fails. Is there a pump protection circuit on this machine? I know I'm spit-ballin, but maybe it might give you some idea of where to look. A friend of mine has a 650 that had the same problem, but it was all electric circuit issues, so I don't know what the real problem ended up being because they just replaced parts until it worked. The parts swappers (not mechanics) around here are awful. Sorry I don't have better advice, hope you figure it out quickly.

When we got to the step where he was supposed to keep his thumb on a spring so that it wouldn’t launch across the room he removed the keeper as he was asking…”And now I need to press my thumb here?” as the spring launched across the room. Yes, there's a tool, trace it in paper if you can borrow one to use , then make one for future jd hydraulic clutches. Also, yes those deere hyd clutches need pressure to drive. Starting with Deere 30 series they put a clutch pressure gauge on the console so you didn't run low on clutch pressure and slip the clutch.

The audio on the Go-Pro - check the Mics setting (Auto, Wind & Stereo I think) - the audio is usually fine when you are talking on-axis, as soon as you move off axis audio is usually worse. The microphone array appears too focussed - for forward/front sound sources only which would be the normal mode if one is recording sound in front of the camera. I wonder if the stereo mode might work better for your handheld use? Naturally, the mic orifice cleaning will help and hopefully the camera (if Mics is in auto mode) will adjust mic array more appropriately. Keep up the excellent work and enjoyable videos.

I know them drive motors can go up to 20,000 hours or more believe it or not . They are tough ! I worked on 750 & 850 back in the 80’s and 90’s ! Good luck !

I have a 750 B I bought it not moving, found an issue in the speed control valve on transmission control valve, one of spool was seized not allowing no fluid to pass for the forward and reverse. My gauges for forward and reverse started showing pressure of 70-80 psi sometimes 90-100 psi for the forward and reverse but the machine still won't move. My P1 pressure is around 270 psi. I check the pump and motor servos test ports I have no pressure at all there. I'm thinking maybe the pump displacement control valve could be my issue but not sure maybe I still need to be at the transmission control valve looking for more pressure

Warren what have you got for feed line pressure going into to valve ,you must have a sure pressure going to valve in order to lift ball seat springs to get a flow to other systems of the controls ,it is possible that the gasket could have started leaking its very unlikely, so finding how much pressure coming into valve is first ,then what is required to lift valve off seat and do you have it pressure .if not you will find the dump valve is open maybe do to broke spring if that is what operates it or piston rod seals which is more common ,were you able to check dump valve pressure while checking other line pressures in valve system before you took it apart for changes in pressure ? That will tell you everything you need to know as to where the problem lies .I hope this will help you if I can help any further let me know .

Hi Warren, Have you tried JD technical manual for the 8430? I think that information is supposed to be in it for special JD tools.

Just an opinion, or suggestion ( on your audio problem ), what most you tubers use, are the mics that attach to you, ( your collar, let say ) and would be wireless, so even if you were to walk anywhere, your audio would be the same no matter where you are. Maybe ( and I said maybe ) you might want to goggle wireless audio for your video setup ( Go Pro or whatever you may choose ), there are Tons of options out there. I would help you out there myself, but I just don't have the means ( finances ). Anyways, still great videos!!👍 Keep it up. Ward L.

Great / educational video as always... just curious, is it possible someone had hands on this prior to you & moved lines around on the valve? just curious because of that plug you were questioning... Stay safe & keep up the awesome work!!

If your losing power equally to both sides maybe the clutch between the engine and splitter box that drives the pumps is slipping and worn out.

Could the valve body top plate have a very tiny bow in the centre area of it, it's a bit silly it's only bolted down around the perimeter especially with the amount of pressure running through the valve block

that tool doesn't bolt on it just a gauge to measure depth of fingers to make sure proper contact with the throwout bearing. if you know someone at the dealership that has the gauge you could just trace it out

Sounds to me like something dirt or piece of the filter got into that valve and is plugging off the your problem areas pull filters and inspect them they probably haven't been changed in forever

New sub, great videos! What program are you using for your service Manuel? I just picked up an 84 750D I believe, I gotta find the serial tomorrow. Nothing wrong with it other than an injector that’s bad but would love to find the service man online vs a physical book.

Warren, I’ve got a 750b that quits pushing when it’s hot and I’m seeing hydraulic oil in the bottom. JD says both transmissions are bad, but to me it seems like the main pump is loosing pressure. Where can I get a copy of the books you used for the specs and troubleshooting?

Hey hows going - love ur videos - thx for that. Its not the grease in the holes - it is the software of the GoPros that screw up ur Audio. Everytime the wind blows to strong the Mic shut down or lock up .... maybe u can disable that or change the settings in the menu ? wind noise is better than dont hear you - i think. A lot of other youtubers have the same problem - and they start to use an external sound option to compensate that Till next time - greetings from germany
