John Deere 2038R - First Time Use!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Our first job using our compact utility tractor John Deere 2038R Tractor, with Quick Attach PTO Tree Stump Grinding, Brush Hog and Stump Bucket! Watch us as we clear out a pasture to remove invasive buckthorns, out of control shrubs, unwanted trees and stumps. Justin sure has a lot of fun getting to know the tractor and learning what to do and what NOT to do. We even get into leveling and back dragging with the bucket on the front end loader (FEL).
Cheers from Bulldog Tractor 🍻 #bulldogtractor ‪@BulldogTractor‬

I've owned my 2038r for a year now. It does everything I need on my 1000 acre hunting lease and my 10 acre farm as well. It was very affordable.

How is the grip of those hybrid tires? They look like they would be easier on turf.

Love the R3 hybrid turf radials! Very little turf damage, if any. More traction than R4/Industrial/Block tread in both summer and winter. Unless the application is specifically dirt fields, then I would go R1 Ag paddle. But for everything else, these R3 Hybrid radials are the cats meow! Cheers from the Bulldog 🍻

For those roots, take your boxblade and drop the teeth, tilt forward so you don't scalp the ground. You'll find the root real quick. Not throwing shade, I have a 3025 and 5075, just thought you might want to try it and see if it works for you.

I'm getting ready to upgrade from my 1025r as we acquired some more property to hunt. How do you like those new hybrid tires? are they the R14? Do they get descent traction all the way around especially in dirt / maybe a little mud? I was thinking about staying with R4's, they have been good, don't tear up my yard to bad as long as I am conscient about turns. But i was concerned with the issue of more weight with the 2038R. Keep having fun and enjoying life with your family, wont' get that time back.

Deere called them R3 Radial. I absolutely love them, and every future tractor will have them. I have working knowledge on R1 agricultural and R4 Industrial. These R3 Radials incorporate all the best qualities into a single tire option. Mud, deep soft mud and pristine turf grass. They are hard to beat. But that’s only my opinion, other situations may have different results. Although I truly enjoy doing projects on the tractor. I’m the happiest when my younger family members come out to lend a hand and I see their twinkle in their eye watching dad do work on the “big” tractor. Helps fill a void from corporate life. Appreciate you stopping by and watching! Cheers from the Bulldog 🍻

I am currently looking at the 2032R. I only own 2 acres. But the 2025R seems like the lift capacity will not be enough and i want a solid backhoe. Do you find the 2038/2032R is too heavy for your lawn? I do not want to make ruts all over my yard.

In my opinion the only wrong answer is R4 tires. Get a good radial turf tire, so that the solid to void area puts enough surface pressure to the ground. Next I will say, if you are looking at the 2032R, personally I would just get the 2038R. With the zero down, zero interest on the JD loan structure, you won’t hardly notice the cost difference. But, you will notice the HP difference. As far as cutting the lawn, the 1025R is probably the best? It rides lower, best turning radius, best outside wheel to mower deck ratio. The 1025R is just a better lawn mower. I can say from my first hand knowledge, my 2038R with liquid filled R3+ tires, with a 1,200# brush hog cantilevered off the back. Mine and my customers lawns experience very little compaction or turf damage. Your mileage may vary! Thanks for viewing our channel 👍

What brand and model of brush hog is that? Looking at the John Deere MX5 for an upcoming 2038r purchase and didn't want it to feel too heavy since it'll be operating on decent hills.
