So true focus your everyday rolls for skill development and competition rolls to win. Wry wise strategy
His description of the art vs science of combat sport was so simple, so good.

Both equally difficult for most. Anybody who’s done it long enough knows the absolutely insane turnover. I got my purple belt about a year ago, and have zero plans of stopping. Whereas I’ve seen purple belts quit. So insane to me. jiujitsu literally changed me as a person. I have deep appreciation for my coach, and my team. I can’t imagine my life without it.
When John Danaher talks, the world listens.

Jiu Jitsu is such a beautiful and beneficial sport! Its just a shame a lot of gyms aren't regulated, have favourites and are full of meat heats and ego warriors. A lot don't have any structure and newcomers are thrown in the deep end to never be seen again.

Excellent. Listening to the podcast, I was sure you would see this excellent definition of jiu jitsu. Which really makes it like a theory of war in Clausewitz sense, as jiu jitsu really focuses on the adversary’s centers of gravity.

I try to practice combat sports; especially Jiu-jitsu as an art; but i always strive for the technical science. 🇧🇷🥋

I'm going to go ahead and say it... Danaher just says basic common knowledge but sounds like he thinks he's a Renaissance philosopher.
@jdm3656

He has a master’s in philosophy, and has said many profound sentiments. How many people understand the power of choice in fighting? The capacity to decide the particular way to resolve a situation? This insight has the potential to completely dissolve subjective victimhood.
Fancy short film with whimsical soundtrack can't cover lies and deception 👎
