“If you’re dealing with 250 lb guy trying to kill you and survive and hour for police to come... victory is not exactly the purpose of jiu jitsu.” The best analogy of the philosophy of bjj. Amazing!

That's not just bjj. You contain someone who wants to harm you in any way, you've won.
I've rolled with Rickson on several occasions. He was about 185 pounds, I was about 230 pounds, solid muscle and had been training for several years. He talks in this video about telling your opponent exactly what your going to do to him, for instance an arm lock or rear naked choke so all you have to worry about is defending against that one technique. This is what he told me as well. I'm strong as hell. I've been choking out collegiate wrestlers. He might get me but he's gonna work for it. It felt like I had been put inside a steel cage that was 3 sizes to small for me. He's been called a legend but there's really no words to describe him. Yes he's human, but different. Very different.

I trained at at Royce Gracie academy(pre covid shutdown) but it was back in my kung fu days that I came across Choke, Rickson has always been my main inspiration since then.
Love Ricksons mindset on life and in jiu-jitsu. His game is self defense based and transfers into mma or street fights better. Thanks Stuart for the amazing videos.

Thank you for theese movies i really appreciate, they stimulate minds on a theme we all have close to our heart. Anyway Jiujitsu can be Jiujitsu only if we think it on real fights. If not is something else, because Jiujitsu was born linked to the roots of reality. I love also theese elements that permits to variate trainings creatin stimulating goals. More close to fitness than to Jiujitsu. The best way to grow Jiujitsu is to practice Jiujitsu itself, like this developin never ends
You have to be the best JJ film maker out there... These videos are amazing.

I never talk about the products that youtubers promote. Yet I have been looking for a LONG time to find a electrolyte drink that actually has a decent amount of potassium and magnesium. I will have to give this LMNT a try.
One of your very best Stuart! One day a white belt is going to come to you to learn the film-making craft. You could have them transcribe by hand every video, then type those hand-written transcriptions into a pdf, then make those pdfs into a Kindle ebook, and split the Amazon commissions with them for their diligent work. Rickson's words are as inspiring as Dale Carnegie or Napoleon Hill. You are appreciated!

Some good advice by master Rickson. But pick a good training partner when putting yourself in bad positions or else you’ll be building a relationship with physiotherapist instead of spending more time on the mats.
Now that's a real motivation!

I’m not a BBJ practitioner but I can tell besides Rickson’s obvious skill level, just the way he thinks, carries himself and just his overall aura-when you are in his presence you are in the presence of a true master-a word that is thrown around way too easily these days

Young mans game. My hands are numb, shoulders screwed but I would have never traded my Gracie Barra school & my 20 years on the Matt for the world
I've done boxing on off since 97 always felt fit etc until a real fight happened boxing is great but life gets In the way jujitsui is a great alternative because you can train whenever you want someone I know is a blackbelt and trained from 97 nisar Shaikh bjj
Wanted to ask a question because you have been around a ton of tough dudes all over the world. Who did you roll with that had the most intense pressure?
