John is a legend no one sounds like him he is one of kind. When you hear one of his songs you immediately know it’s him. This & Ain’t even done with the night are my two favorites. ❤️🥰🎸🎤

I wish people would stop complaining about lip syncing, it 's not unusual for shows like this to have artists do that. We all know John Mellencamp is good live too, so just forgive him this one.

Looks like he was singing live with backing drummer, the rest was just moving as if they were hooked up to amps. It's common that they would use the studio track for the instumentals.

If John sang this live on solid gold then I can also sell u real estate in florida. This was lip synched totally and the band wasn’t even playing except to a backing track. Not one bit of this as most bands on solid gold never performed live. It’s quite obvious. Where is the organist/keyboard player by the way? Playing in the audience? Lol. This was a great tune. Thank God for MTV in the 80s. They played the best stuff back then.
