But what made the debut great wasn’t Cena and his cookie cutter gimmick. It was all Kurt Angle who made that debut great. Angle was already a top guy and let a rookie take him to the limit. Angle made that debut. John’s right, that gimmick and act was never going to work in 2002. After the debut, no one cared about him until the doctor of thuganomics started. Because that was unique and different.

Now that whole era is called that
