One of the best rock songs EVER! John and the gang should get a hell of a lot more respect. The rhythm guitar rocks, the bass is thumping harder than a trip hammer, and the sax is scorching. Everything to love and nothing disappoints in this song. Thank you guys for writing and performing this. A side note, I prefer the version of the video with the real band and not the film version. I always did get a hoot watching John do that one legged hop thing and you can see the band is having a good time.

Speaking of that overseas military life, I had actually completely forgotten about this song, and not long ago, I heard it playing on a Korean radio station while alone and riding a bus through the local city one night. I couldn't remember the name of the song or the band, but I knew I had to find out. I have ended up getting blasted from the past by a lot of great, somewhat obscure American songs just like that, while riding buses in Korea.
What a song so underrated the piano is just beautiful
I saw these guys perform live in Chicago shortly after the movie came out. They put on one helluva show and while the movie resonates with me, the music they created is some of the best rock around. They made Eddie Wilson live!

Met John Cafferty in Presque Isle, Maine about 1990. Wow. I don't sound like I look either 😊
Love it ,great tune,memories
Thanks John for writing this. Still my favourite after all these years. The movie was awesome also.
I was a hard rock/metal 60s/70s music kid, but this does represent a wonderful time to be alive. From 76-86 was Awesome for young people. Now everything feels stale and over repeated.
I was just thinking of this song today and the movie Eddie and the Cruisers! I LOVE both so much, and it was just GREAT hearing this song again...and, again!! ❤
It’s so great to see the awesome guys behind this magnificent music. This is 1 of my favorite songs.
John Cafferty did so many great tunes. Never understood why he wasn’t as famous as he should have been. Record labels didn’t want to push him I guess.
Never gets tiring! Got goose bumps! 😎😎😎😎
Don't know if my neighbors like this song, but I know they listen to it :)
What an amazing song.
Great song! What a voice he has
I close my eyes and can see Eddie and the Cruisers, not John and the brown beavers. 🤣 I'm back to listen again. John and the Brown Beavers are great! But I swear I can see Joanne dancing on the side with a tambourine. [July 2023] Back again. Loving the song!
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME 👌 SONG IN THE 80S....❤❤❤
I woke up with this song in my head. No idea why. I’ll tell you this. It’s just as good as I remember, but it’s not long enough. I had to play it 3 times
This song still gives me the chills, an amazing song from an amazing band,

Music which articulates a feeling all of us feel!
Good song and great movie! I'm going to have to watch Eddie and the Cruisers again. it's been a few decades since I watched it.👍
This song is the greatest cheat ever - - it just repeats the 1 verse .. unbelievable. but it works to perfection.
One of the greatest songs of all time
