I was on A trip to the UK and my group left Edinburgh the day BEFORE he came to do a book signing at a store that was like a 3 minute walk from our hotel! I was so mad! But I couldn't exactly ask them to rework EVERYTHING on a school trip just for my fangirl moments :P

It's your opinion, but opinions are a bit useless without bothering to find out facts. He's Scottish, moved to U.S.A. as a child and got bullied because of his accent (so there are others like you who hate on that basis), so learned to copy the American accent and it stuck. So he's not a songwriter, so what? He IS a good actor. People who know about acting think so, including reviewers. You may dislike him for his accent (??) but no way is his acting 'wooden'.

He's hardly on TV these days, unless you go looking for him. A 2-bit presenter?? Talentless? He's been a celebrated star of stage musicals for nearly 20 years. Ok, a bit overexposed for a couple of years but that's showbiz - got to raise your profile while the sun shines to ensure you stay in work and remain good box office. If you find him irritating then you do, but he is not talentless.
