You have saved me on gemstones. Mine ended up looking like dollar store plastic gems. The thing I live the most about coloring is that no two things are exactly alike when it comes to nature. Thank you so much.
You are my favorite teacher, I wish that you would continue coloring and teaching. I miss watching everyone of your tutorials.
Very nice tutorial. Easy to understand. I appreciate knowing the colors you used as well.
Beautiful! thank you so much for giving me the courage and knowledge to try gemstones!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, for me as a beginner I was having trouble understanding how to colour the gems in Johanna’s books and others with like gemstone images, I was feeling quite confused until I saw your tutorial and now it all makes sense! Feeling enthusiastic about my gem colouring now I am a happy Vegemite 🙏😊

It’s an electric eraser :) there’s good deals on the Derwent brand on Amazon UK right now. I’m not an affiliate. Just had a quick look at prices for you, they are currently £5. Xx
Hi Claire, Hope you are well.Great to hear your podcast with passionistacolorita recently.I wanted to ask if you ever tried your hand at bokeh background? If yes then would you be so kind to do a tutorial on it on your KZread channel? Also, are there any books on color theory you could recommend for beginners to go through? I still find myself struggling to pick out color combinations that work well together.Any advice on it from your end would be highly appreciated.Love your work!

Sing Gal hi!! I’m so glad you like the tutorials and we’re able to listen to the podcast!!! It was so much fun. I’ve not done a Bokeh background but there are two Colorists Special Effects books by Helen Elliston - I think the second one covers how to do bokeh 😃

LaVon Orange LaVon Orange yes, that is the podcast, passionista colorista. You can go to www.passionistacolorista.com and at the top of the page you’ll see tabs, with “podcast” being one of them. You can click on that and it will take you to the podbean site where you can listen to the podcast-you’ll just need to scroll through the episodes to find the one with Claire. Or if you use a podcast app, you may be able to find it on your favorite podcast app-just type in passionate colorista. Edit: it appears her episode is #9 in February 2018, entitled “droplets, Prismacolor, and Johanna Basford with Claire Holloway.
Why do you think many gemstone artist put their name on the pages we color in their books?
What's the eraser you used?
