I wish the show gave Dandelion/Jaskier an actual personality like the has in the books instead of "haha funny singing sidekick". Geralt's relationship with him in the books (and the games) is really special. Dandelion always seems like the classic horny bard who gets into trouble all the time and yes they had some arguments but he is a good friend and does everything he can to help Geralt when he needs support. The show Jaskier was just so... bland in comparison. Especially in Season 2. Which is a damn shame because Joey Batey could have done great things with the character if the showrunners were at least a bit more competent than a toddler that just learned to say "dada".

Initially they all loved working on it but the producers kept making more and more prominent changes (which was a deal breaker for Cavil) and actively mocked the source material (as confirmed by ex staff members of the show). Eventually they've even warped and twisted key relationships between main characters to the point where it would be difficult to reunite their own visions of the characters with the books. I might be wrong about this but I think I heard that Joey Batey was a little frustrated that Toss A Coin To Your Witcher was his most successful song by a country mile because it is also one of the simplest and least personal musical creations he's been a part of. And from what is implied here, it seems as though the music isn't considered wholly his own either, so having it attributed as his most successful song might sting a bit. On that note, if you havent heard of them before, I'd recommend checking out The Amazing Devil, of which Joey Batey is a band member and vocalist. I found it rather strange initially but my god does it grow on you. The Horror And The Wild is probably one of my most listened to albums in the last couple of years ngl.

Like when people play "I'll be there for you" to Jennifer Aniston. She just makes an annoyed face. She can't avoid. Even the questions irritates her. I saw her giving a interview about something else and they went "did u know Friends is being removed from Netflix?" and she just said "I didn't know it was there, ins first place." Like, whatever, I exist apart of Friends.
To be fair, joey is an fantastic singer. Has a group the amazing devil, and literally everything they sing is solid gold, and all anyone ever talks about is this song.

@@brandonpowell3254 there are subjective qualities to it, sure. But there are also those that are more objective ones too. So just because I don't like it doesn't mean it's all a matter of opinion in the end. But yeah, let's just chill and let people burn (or wash?) their money on productions that do a disservice to oh, nothing big, just our favorite hobbies, stories and characters. Yeah. It's entertainment. So it should entertain!
