I am so obsessed with him. I can't stop watching him. The humour, the delivery, the jokes, oh my God, pure perfection. He's such a gem. So unique. Love him so much. Such a hot bod too! I copied this from another comment on KZread (that someone else made) about Diane Morgan but it definitely applies to Joe too.

I thought this performance was wonderful. It wasn't a constant chucklefest, but I don't believe that's what Joe was intending. For me, it was nine straight minutes of bracing myself for what was coming next, sitting on the edge of my seat being steeped in pure awkward, chaotic energy. It was both unique and an experience, and I think everything landed exactly as he intended.

there are a lot of people saying that he’s not the best at stand up but i’m not sure if i agree, i think he’s genuinely very good and is only let down at times by delivery or segwaying; it feels like he hasn’t really had too much practice and i’m genuinely impressed by how well he does here

I am just interested in your point, @@billfindlay2846. Is it that you find him exceptional with every line a winner on the panel show appearances he makes? I guess the reason I am curious is because a couple of the other commenters, here, say something like "I love him as a guest on a panel show but this is cringe" or similar, but, this is an *amazing* set. Multiple big laughs. Unique and consistent style. Compellingly original material. I cannot understand why anyone would have anything bad to say about this, at all. Tl;dr: yes, he is amazing on those game/ panel shows but this set is pretty amazing too.

A lot of people seem to be either one or the other. Might be because they need to tailor their act to such a wider audience as they usually go on tour and do it all over the country so it doesn't quite feel like 'them' anymore. Alan Davies, Sean Lock etc are AMAZING on panel shows, awesome quick wit but their standup is so underwhelming compared.

I’m AMERICAN and I love comediennes from the UK. Joe Wilkinson is one of my favorites. I like several from Scotland but my all time favorite is Richard Ayoade. Thank God for cable and KZread. You also have some great female comediennes. I guess I just find UK comediennes a lot more funnier than ones from the US. I also love your game shows, talk shows, reality shows and The Great British Baking Show. I do have to admit though that one thing you do that drives me nuts is you end everything you say with a question. LOL. Thank you for teaching me that AMERICANS say wader instead of water. None of us realized it until I heard someone from the UK say how we pronounce it wrong. I correct everyone now. They’re like you’re right we do say wader and not water LOL 🤣😀😂

For starters, Johnny Vegas’s poem was genuinely moving and brilliant, and then the way Joe’s poem made every other panellist genuinely lose their shit was just an extra gift. “Captain Birdseye” made me weep with laughter. The next best moment on the show was Sean Locke’s ad lib “That’s a challenging wank.” Still piss myself every time I think of it.

Joe is naturally very funny with great observations off the cuff, and a lovely bloke, but stand up just isn't his thing, but that's fine same as the late great Sean Lock, 10 times funnier off the cuff than any standup comedian, but not the best standup, I actually think there is something in that, as iv never laughed at great stand ups when they aren't doing standup but try to be funny in conversation or on a panel show

Joe is hilarious in Afterlife. This is my first time watching him do stand up and I am so sorry to his stand up fans in advance but I found him to be woefully unfunny.

So much comedy gatekeeping in this comment section. “If you do:t think it’s funny you don’t get comedy”. Tone it down Jerry Seinfeld. Not everyone has to like everything.

Oh dear. When I clicked I didn’t think it would be funny. Terrible how he’s in the clique and good comedians struggle.
