Nobody writes transitions like Strummer. Genre and beat jumping like the Maestro he was. RIP, Joe. We all miss you.
Joe changed my life. I saw The Clash when I was a boy and it affected me the way few things have. I was also fortunate enough to see his final New York show. He is missed every day. If success is measured by the positive impact one makes on the world, then few rival Joe.
The world will never be the same without Joe Strummer. One of the greatest ever.. Period.

What makes Joe's death even sadder to me is that I think he was really on top of his game again. His is the voice of Rock and Roll.

This song is about Lola, his daughter, Lola and Jazz are beautiful women who had and still have 1 of the best dads ever, we still love you Joe ❤️
There is a small old theater in my area that has a large mural of Strummer painted on a lobby wall.

One of Joe's Late Classics.
One of the few rock icons that I would've even cared to have met. Joe always came off as being honest and humble. Great song.

I teared up listening to this this morning. I Didn’t expect that I would, but all of the memories of listening to the Clash in my bedroom came back. They were “my band.” I loved them so much. Guess I still do. RIP Joe Strummer. The GOAT IMO
Thank you so much Hellcat Records for posting all this Strummer stuff. x
RIP Joe, you're missed every day when we turn on the radio... Everyone trying to be just like you and don't even know it!

dOUBTLESS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS EVER LISTENED. I COULD PLAY IT OVER AND OVER... tHANKS JOE! ALWAYS IN MY HEART!
Clash's first song in America, at the Paladium, NYC, Feb 1979, "I'm So Bored In The USA." Was there. I am still weepy.

Actually, the Clash played a "secret show" in San Francisco in '77 or early '78. The venue was Temple Beautiful. It was called a secret show since they did it on the sly, didn't want the record label to know. Or something like that ....
@bobbysands6923

@@pgtorrez1246 I also think they might have played at another venue prior to '79 as well as SF. It was always my understanding '79 was the first, but I am finding out that is probably not accurate. Peace.

This song doesn't get anywhere near the love and credit it deserves...it channels the bursting-with-energy-and-joyful-protest vibe of Clash stuff like "Rudie Can't Fail", but at the same time, some of the lyrics, along with that really wonderful choice of chords in the chorus, lends this song a kind of melancholic, reflective, kind of wistful vibe that hadn't really been heard from Strummer before, but--I think--suited him very, very well.

I agree. This is one of his best songs ever imo. Same goes for Burnin' Streets.
I wasn't alive in the 70s or 80s but Strummer has been an unending source of inspiration to me, without him I never would have picked up a guitar and started the career I'm in today, or the great people I've come to know through his and other punk artists' music. He has pretty much influenced my whole life. R.I.P. Mr. Strummer, you fantastic human being.
this has been one of my favorite songs for the longest time.
Joe showed us how to make music and live life with dignity and pride. He never sacrificed what he believed in to sell out. He is a true hero. We need people like Joe Strummer now more than ever. Thanks for the music...RIP!
Another brilliance sample. What a song. Great lyrics (as always) and a sticky changing melody. We all miss Joe Strummer for ever, a great loss for the music world. Just great.
This feels so strangely like his “last song.” Soaring; timeless track.
Seen the clash 3 times when I was young, only one joe strummer.
This song is awesome.
The song that got me into the Mescaleros. About his daughter, i believe. RIP Joe you will live forever. Xx
celui qui n'aime pas pas ce morceau est un homme qui n'a aucun gout.respect joe strummer.
Thank you Joe Strummer for paving the way! I'm not sure what I would be listening to today if it wasn't for Joe and others alike. RiP You're a true innovator
Just had a way about him in which he made it all seem so simple. Guess that's what makes up a genius and true talent. The way they make it look so easy. Joe is one of the few. He reminds me every time I hear one of his songs that the everyday shouldn't be just that. It should be more important right now , this moment than ever before because it truly is . RIP JOE

I honestly have to thank jason adams for using this song in his bag of suck part. If he hadnt i would have never looked up joe strummer or been able to connect him to the clash. This song and that part have stuck with me for 10 years and counting. I do favor this over the clash personally. If i never looked into it, i would have never been able to pay my respects

Joe Strummer at his absolute best.
I was crawling through a festival way out west I was thinking about love and the acid test But first I got real dizzy with a real rocking gang Then I saw the Coma Girl and the excitement gang And the rain came in from the wide blue yonder Through all the stages I wandered Coma Girl and the excitement gang Mona Lisa on the motorcycle gang Coma Girl Coma Girl Coma Girl was beating with the Oil Drum gang Some fast food fanatic was burning down the burger van Somebody was wailing off their head Nobody was ripping the teen scene dead And the rain came in from the wide blue yonder I thought you and me might wander Chorus As the 19th hour was falling upon Desolation Row Some outlaw band had the last drop on the go Let's siphon up some gas let's get this show on the road Said the Coma Girl to the excitement gang Into action everybody sprang The oil drums were beating out dulang dulang Coma Girl and the excitement gang Mona Lisa on the motorcycle gang Coma Girl Coma Girl
Love you, Joe. RIP x
