he can do all this with just an acoustic guitar. He is a model I always keep in mind when I see giutarists with huge rigs.. (me as well.. :) I've seen him the 27/07/2011 at the "hard rock cafè" in Venice and he really can do that beautifull stuff with just an amplifyer. Unbeliveable how cool guy he is. I've seen tons of live performances and Joe have the gift to make very technic stuff seem easy (while when you try.. actually it is not..)

Why do we have to be better or worse than someone else? Can't we each be valued for what we contribute by just being and sharing our gifts? I know that sounds really preachy in type, but I genuinely feel so. I think Lady Gaga is great for what she does and Satch is awesome for what he does. @budsyremo his rig allows him to pull feedback with just holding one note. ive noticed him do it alot mostly on G string since its quickest way for feedback. same thing if u held your guitar up to your amp for 5 secs or so. But with his tone it's more celestial soothing then over the top feedback..... theres a fine fine line thats for sure

I wonder how the Beatles (memory fails me but I think it was Paul McCartney) managed to get feedback in the studio. "First guitar feedback ever recorded on studio" if I recall correctly. 1964 I believe. Recalling most of it from memory from stuff I've been reading recently

great performance.. although Satch isn't my favorite guitarist...I have to admit, when he's in the zone he's hard to top. I wish he would do more songs like this ... introspective and soulfull ... much better than Satch Boogie or Summer Song, for example.

@igknightus Because, mainly due to marketing, most people cannot differentiate between music and entertainment. In the 'modern' world music doesn't have any great inherent value to corporations unless there is an entertainment angle to help 'push' it. Thankfully, we now have the internet so £$&* corporate music and the people that never grow out of it. Leave 'em to it, you couldn't convince them that JS Bach was a musical genius compared to Lady GaGa let alone Joe Satriani. * Deep breath *
