My late husbands favorite song, he was a great fan of yours. And he also loved to play the guitar, This song is so beautiful , we played this song at his funeral at his request. Thank you Joe Satriani. ❤🍀 * Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and greet Mr. Joe Satriani at the special Club Joe VIP Q&A! For my brother, my son and myself, this was a memorable, unforgettable moment!🤗Besides being a virtuoso on the guitar and a great musician, he is also a very humble and kind man.! The concert was amazing !! (And of course "Always.. was our highlight)❤ 💥Thanks again Mr. Satriani!❤

Went to the Satch/Vai show two nights ago in memory of my father who passed away on Halloween and didn’t expect Joe to make me cry with this song. I lost my contact and had to squint the rest of the show, but it was totally worth it. Thanks, Dad, for giving a 15 year old boy a lifelong passion and a well-loved Ibanez.

I was estranged from my older brother for 8 years due to personal differences compounded by childhood trauma we both suffered that affected us both deeply. As young boys we both loved this song, it was one of the first albums that he ever owned. I randomly decided to share this with him a couple of months ago and after absolutely no contact from him for years he actually messaged me back and then called me. We have started to forgive one another and we are rebuilding our relationship. Cheers Joe.

For me, the slower Joe plays, the better he sounds. He is like Clapton. The fast legato runs and shredding are fine. But his slow runs breathe life and soul into the guitar that transforms it from a machine into something truly organic. That is his true mastery.

This universe is comprised of fractals of vibration. There are 'perfect vibrations' just as there are 'perfect numbers'. There is real science on this. And I have heard 'the perfect voice". From the time she started speaking until she finished, I could not move. And I can't tell you a single word she said. I only need to experience a thing once to believe it is real. So,Trust, every time YOU light a candle and play that song, your Mom hears. Do you need to know how to build an airplane to know that they fly? Same deal here.

The first time I ever heard Joe I was smoking a joint in the middle of the night at my job on the docks. One of my friends had brought the hash and the tape. The sound just blew me away. I had never heard anything like this before, the way it moved me was like nothing else I’d ever heard. I was so excited. Been a huge fan ever since. I absolutely love this track. I played it at the funeral of a buddy of mine who was killed in a motorbike accident. It can still reduce me to tears. There’s so much emotion in it. We do a ride down the west coast from Perth every year to commemorate our fallen comrade. I always have this blasting as we mount up at Kings Park. Thank you Joe.

If you say so. I only see proof that Joe practiced his scales and knows his modes/intervals, and therefore has a solid musical knowledge at the base of his impressive techinque. The only soul I have ever seen is the Kia Soul. You call it soul. I call it a lot of practice and knowledge of music theory. Like, good old fashioned hard work bearing its own fruit. I doubt Joe would be flattered to see all his study and hard work minimized and played off as "having soul" or "evidence of a soul"! Despite having good intention, that remark is insulting to those who know how hard it is to achieve this level of craftsmanship in music. No one know that better than Joe Satriani. He was a teacher himself, notorious for the high standards he held for his students. He left a veritable holocaust of dismissed former students in his wake while at the same time taking great pride in former students who had been disciplined enough for his lessons to go on to greatness. Alex Skolnick comes to mind as an example of one of Joe's best students. He was pretty good before he took lessons from Joe. But after, he was one of the great ones. Again, I doubt Joe would agree with your well meaning sentiment. But hey, what do I know? I'm just an old guitar teacher and someone who knows a thing or two about Joe.

@@imvandenh This is one of the most patronising comments I have ever red on YT. Who are you to judge whether one can or can't make the comparison being able to make this kind of music and having a soul. This person tells us he is touched within the core of his soul by this music and to him/her is it proof humans do have a soul being able to make beautiful music like that. Oh you know "a bit" about Joe Satriani? So what? It is about the personal perception of someone and nobody else can make a judgement about that.

The one thing I like almost as much is Joe's playing is an appropriate comment on his playing. Bang on !

Joe's guitar speaks a language... either you get it... love it ... and respect it... or... are completely lost... I have absolutely NO musical talent... but truly love & cannot get enough of what Joe is conveying... Thanks for the years of it, Joe !

Listening again March 2024 ...my favorite. I got to see him do this only once in Durham NC, was in the college auditorium, small and intimate setting. Will never forget that incredible life experience 🌷

Just the timing with his equipment alone, is worth the price of admission. The musicallity is, otherworldly. Pay that no attention. You'll feel it soon enough. ; )

When I was running about 30-40 miles a week in my younger years .. I used to record "ass kicking upbeat music" .. especially sensitive to the last couple tunes for the "Bell lap" .. or to "bring it home" with .. if I had been listening to the electricity driven magic of Satriani during this period .. I've come to one of the following conclusions .. I would either have won Olympic Gold .. or suffered a myocardial infarction 😉😉😁😂 his music electrifies me in such a way that I believe I could power a lightbulb while holding it in my mouth .. 😁🎸😉
