    one of my all time favorite players. Joe Sakic is a class act, always showed up big in big games and led his team to two Stanley Cups. Watching him and Forsberg together was truly something to behold whether it was on the power play or the year when they put them on the same line. Incredible.

    As a 50+ year Bruins fan he is my favorite non-Bruin player of all time. And it has nothing (almost...lol) to do with handing Bourque the cup. I remember seeing him wearing that #88 in a Nordiques jersey saying to my friends this kid is going to be special. He did not disappoint.

    He also got voted as the best gm that year too he has done a lot for us avs fans and it’s much appreciated he is loyal and I’m really grateful that we get to have someone like this as our gm.

    Every team that will have success need a rock, a foundation like Joe Sakic.. Incredible skilled to fill the needs both ways to make sure the team is on the edge… He lifted the team, teammates and much of His fantastic job putted them in the spotlight!!

    Joe is way more an idol than Gretzky. Im a vancouver fan and bertuzzi was my favourite so colorado is a sensitive spot for me. Ill always love burnaby joe.

    I being a life long Red Wing fan hated Colorado but I always respected Joe Sakec I thought for a couple of years he was the best player in the world he was their Steve Izerman

    Look at that all-star lineup the Nordiques got for Lindros. Surely that's the biggest trade for one guy ever. Instant cup team.

    In hindsight, we could make a case for Forsberg for Lindros 1:1, nevermind the rest of the add-ons!

    @@KetaProductions in hindsight Forsberg is worth two Lindros. I believe (and so do some NHL hall of farmers) that Forsberg was the greatest player of all time. At his peak the argument can be made.

    Thanks to a familial tie Sakic was always in the background to Forsberg but the more I learn... man he was great. Of course it's impossible to be completely oblivious, he can't be left out of any longer discussion of the Avs, but it's only now sinking in all those comments of stepping up when it mattered and being a true leader instead of it just being something I'm vaguely aware of
