It's reckless and stupid given that you aren't supposed to sacrifice yourself to anything, ever. That's the invers of the It's the bears territory the eat meat, it's their fault for going there we can't hurt the bear it's theirs..." that argument suggests the rational outcome is die because we explore. No, that's a bit far removed from human and rational to me for my liking. I'd actually call that being both benign and evil at the same time, for you may do no harm up to self sacrifice, to convince another to abandon their sense of survival is evil. It will end in the predictable unnecessary death of the most advanced and needed animal on the planet, humankind. You don't have to agree, it makes no matter the same. We are the pinnacle of existence of life here. That is without a doubt the most obvious of truths found here on Earth is that we are not like literally anything else, amd thus,it can all be subject to our whimsy, and that's actually MORE NATURE, AND EQUALLY BRUTAL, than simply being a peace martyr with it. Why would your brain fail you like this?

I worked on a drilling rig in the high Arctic offshore we sat thirty feet of ice. 2000 feet of ocean below. We had all the protection money could buy. We had about twenty Inuit working around the compound. Six dogs. And guns. We also were trained on polar bear course. What to do and not to do. Every exit door to the outside had a poster of a polar Bear that read it could be you. Well one as we were leaving camp for the night shift. My friend opened the door and walked out. And just like that he was grabbed. I still hear the screams. My friend lived through the actions of us all. But man he was beaten up pretty nasty. Polar bears hunt what ever it sees as food.

Another sad story: A teacher and her toddler son were mauled by a polar bear on school grounds. The mom was bringing her baby back to the daycare center, located just a couple hundred yards away from the lunch hall, when a polar bear had spotted her and her young child. This happened in between polar bear lookout rounds where people got on snowmobiles and surveyed school grounds for polar bears. Happened a couple years ago 😢

The polar bear lives in an extremely harsh environment. It seeks to survive no matter what it has to do. It’s nothing personal against humans. The humans were there, the bear was there. Humans don’t belong there. The bear DOES belong there. Humans are fragile and weak. Polar bears are tough super predators with deadly onboard weapons, giant endurance, highly evolved sensory equipment, and they are fast swimmers.

Belongs? What brain assumes we don't belong any given where on this earth? We are built to traverse more than any other creature, what you say is factually wrong. We are uniquely designed to achieve living and exploring anywhere. That's OUR NATURE, stop pretending this is a justice or issue needing justified, that doesn't even factor in. They should have figures they'd encounter huge predators, and they'd need a big gun, to drop them. They failed that obvious check for survival.l, and one is lunch. That's luck too, they can eat hundreds of pounds in meat and bone in a day. Any bear that tastes human, will never stop hunting them specifically after this, as in if they see their true food source, and one of us standing near it, they will eat us and leave the original food source after they try our flesh. It's called ManEater syndrome, amd huge predators are probe to falling into this mode of action. You kill that animal, cause human traits like justice and rights to land, they don't get your meaning at all, and those are not factors they consider at all, only idiots who achieve nothing but talk like they've done everything, think this way. Do better, and also, realize you are the Apex of Earth, you won this motherfucker, not the bear, and you should love it, not disrespect the effort and time it took to stand on top of the mountain tain of corpses that is Apex Mountain, human resoundingly crowned at the very top. Understand what your actual purpose is, and stop handcuffing your fellow humankind for stupid reason not even the animal will recognize.

All this advice about laying down if you come across a grizzly..I wouldn’t lay down with a grizzly!!!! I’m not sure why this is still passed around as advice. Because you won’t hear this advice in bear country…. First off, Never go into bear country without bear spray, in addition to having another weapon, and always make noise. Don’t want to sneak up on a bear… Especially if it’s a mama bear!! If it’s a mama bear, the noise will cause her to move her cubs away. You see a grizzly, get the fuck out of its way. If it starts getting close, use your spray, and be loud and big. If that doesn’t deter- hopefully you have a .45 and you use it. Never fucking lay down lol. These guys bully wolves out of kills- they aren’t passing up a meal and you’re not going to smell rotten lol.

I actually jumped in that freezing water and started swimming towards that damn male polar bear to the screams of my friends as to what I was doing?!, and begging me to come back!.. I knew my body would go numb from the cold, so I kept swimming after I momentarily turned around to my friends and held up my hands in the air and showed them 🫶🏼.. and managed a smile, before swimming back towards that damn bear.. just as he reached me I kicked his face with both my feat so it would eat me legs first- he did. I floated on my back watching him strip both legs of my flesh first, he was half-full on meat I could tell.. then he ate more up to my ribcage.. I was numb from the icy water that I felt no pain whatsoever, he couldn’t eat anymore, and swam away from my friends as they sobbed and cried at the sight of my half eaten torso.. I lost more blood at that point- I turned to them and managed to tell them how much each of them and their friendship meant to me, they cried even more, surprisingly one of the men pulled out a 12 gauge sawed off shotgun from his backpack, and yelled out to me, do you want me to end your suffering?!, I looked at him and as my final thought said as loud as I could yell.. “someone go ahead and take his shotgun from him, and shoot that sunofa b!t€h for not telling me he had a shotgun to shoot that damn polar bear in the first place!!!” The last thing I remember was that a$$&0le screaming and a loud shotgun blast.. I smiled and passed away under the frigid cold red bloodied ice water..
