@@kevinkane1405 sure, but it’s obviously rude to seem unappreciative. He can share his opinion without being rude to guests. Who knows, maybe it’s part of the whole fiasco.

A lot of you are talking about how joe seemed unappreciative to his guests “gift” but what I believe to behappening here is a marketing strategy designed as a “gift”. Although the actual thought behind this may have been positive and his guest thought of it as an gift, the main reason for this is to promote the whiskey brand. Evident by his constant use of “you can give it to your guests” and “we’ll put the JRE logo on it” he is essentially attempting to partner his brand with the JRE without having to give joe millions of dollars for it. Instead some free whiskey. Joe instantly picked up on this and might be the reason for his cold approach to it all. However if the JRE has taught me one thing it’s to try and view situations from all perspectives. I believe his guest had positive intentions but his brand execs likely were using it as an opportunity to promote the brand or Joe was just being an ass 😂

He didn’t just do a random plug on his show. He did an entire infomercial without even asking him if it was okay in advance. If he would have asked him before hand it might had been different. As you said, he disguised it as a gift and thought he was being slick. That’s the worst part about it. When someone tries to obviously manipulate you like that, it is a huge insult to your intelligence. I’m surprised Joe didn’t call him out on it.

I think him not being over excited kinda makes it more real because he's not going off a script like a late night talk show and he's not an actor. It's like getting a good Xmas gift and you don't know how to react. I could be wrong it coulda been planned but it certainly coulda been real too.

1. Single barrel selects always have some sort of sticker on them, usually something funny so putting Joe's face on it isn't him partnering at all. They won't be sold to the public either, just given to his friends or whomever Joe chooses. 2. Buffalo Trace doesn't need any marketing. Their stuff is impossible to find as it is and is mostly allocated and sold well above retail price.

Joe really needs to have Daniel and Rex from the Whiskey Tribe on to hilariously educate him on all things whiskey. They are down to earth whiskey nerds from Austin.

When you're an influential person like Joe, people give you stuff to promote their brand, Joe knows this. Joe is a millionaire many times over and can afford his own whisky, he knows Wren is promoting his brand and he's just allowing him to do it while at the same time maintaining some objectivity and not being an 'infomercial' for whisky. I respect Joe for this.

This is why Joe is the best.....to me this clip shows his spirit and way of looking at life.

I love how joe says “ what am I a girl” when asked if he takes water in his bourbon. He clearly isn’t a whiskey drinker as adding water to your whiskey enhances the flavour making it a better experience and not just drinking it to get smashed.

I think the most disrespectful part of Joe’s response was he was hardly even looking at his guest. He was staring at Jamie or someone off camera while talking about how ‘nerdy’ or ‘hilarious’ it was. Cmon man. Dude was so hyped about his whisky.

I watched the whole ad just because of the way you set it up

I can have a killer day in the market or with friends but what tops everything to me is when I give them a homemade bottle of the family vinegar at they go wtf that is insane, and I talk about the family and the history of the vinegar. They can not even fathom that it has been in the barrel since 1932. I really enjoyed this episode, that is a phenomenal gift of gratitude!

Joe has such great energy. When he's happy it's soo genuine, it's almost childlike, you can't help but feel a little lifted when you see or hear it.

Wow. That was very cool for the guy to bring the whiskeys, and give Joe 200 bottles. Nice to learn how they're made too. I'm drinking southern comfort now, it's very good, and my sort of preferred drink.

Cause he snuck in sneaky marketing. This guy didn’t do all this just to be kind and give gifts he’s tryna gain something.

There's this Richard Paterson video, or a couple, on youtube, where he actually explains what and why you're doing the whiskey smelling, and how you're supposed to do it. Like it actually serves a real purpose and should be done right not to for example make you just blackout from the alcohol vapour. And why you would pour a bit of water in as well, to be able to better taste it. The more you know. A friend from restaurant also explained how if you mess up with the cork, it's actually serious business as well. Supposedly if even parts of the cork go in the wine, it's spoiled in just a moment. That they would actually hurry to filter the whole bottle through like coffee filters to save the bottle. Beats me how the cork shutting the bottle doesn't spoil it when the wine comes in contact when the bottle is preserved before serving.

Dish out 200 bottles of our whiskey with your logo to your audience as a "Thank you" from us. yeah right LOL
