Joe Rogan's 1969 Camaro Full Build Breakdown | The Roadster Shop

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Our own Jeremy, Josh and Phil take us under, around and inside this crisp '69 we recently completed for Joe Rogan. Clean and modernized, but with the essence of a '69 at it's core, with just the right amount of subtle RS details throughout.
With a full Roadster Shop SPEC chassis at it's core, the classic silhouette of the '69 Camaro is brought firmly into the 21st century. The unparalleled handling dynamics, ride quality and performance that Roadster Shop is known for sets the tone for the rest of this stunning build for Joe Rogan @PowerfulJRE.
A monstrous 860HP Wegner built GM LSA engine is mated to a Bowler T-56 Magnum XL transmission for tire shredding duties, with Baer 6-piston brakes shrouded in satin black HRE P101SC wheels (18X9" Front and 19x12" Rear) wrapped in Michelin rubber - all tasked with bringing this beast to a halt.
Function and form truly go hand in hand with this build, with very few elements, outside or in, left untouched. A full RS designed interior is expertly executed by Avant Garde Design (FL) with custom made door panels, dash top, center console and beautifully tailored Recaro Expert seats. The dash and console house a full set of Dakota Digital gauges.
The flawless, deep gloss black exterior is accented with subtle detail throughout. A fully hand made front lower valance incorporates new 3D printed driving lights, custom made grille mesh and chin spoiler with tucked bumpers front and rear. Delicate, hand made rocker moldings highlight the factory lines with CNC machined quarter 'gills' and billet LED taillights add to the contemporary feel. A fully hand fabricated, 3-piece rear spoiler echoes the factory lines, but with a cleaner profile and a tighter, perfect fit.

If I had the money…..I would get this entire package on a 69 Impala and Matte black 😎. But what I liked the most about this video, was hearing the reasoning behind the choices, hearing a business talk about learning from mistakes and experience from hands-on testing, tells me and shows the business’ pride in their brand and product, working to have a good impact in people’s lives is so much better than chasing money…..and I respect the 💩💩💩 out of that. Money follows novelty, not the other way around.

Joe has money that's for sure! He spent $100k on a carbon fiber / gold encrusted booster seat, so he can see above the steering wheel. The idea came to him on hour 5 in his isolation tank after he ate a carnivore meal of elk he hunted in Alaska.

Black paint is the most difficult color to work with as every itty bitty scratch/swirl shows as clear as day. Lighter colors hide imperfections better, but they show gaps more. So if you have a misalignment of two body panels, it's less obvious with a darker car. The problem with black paint is that it takes an extremely skilled body shop to pull it off, and after that point it's a maintenance nightmare. It will show wear and tear much more than any other car, and you can't just roll up to any old detail shop who's going to throw their apprentice on it because, again, black is difficult to work with. That's going to limit the people with the skill to be able to buff it and keep it looking nice, which increases the price tag considerably. If you have experience in the automotive finishing industry, and don't mind doing the maintenance yourself, then black is a fantastic color. Whites/reds/yellows/oranges and pearls are much more practical in my opinion.

1969 was always my favorite Camaro year. (My mother had one; my father-in-law bought it from her; my elder son inherited it. The timing chain failed at about 170K miles, and the car ended up being restored in Europe.)

I thought was going to be another standard muscle car build. Oh, how wrong I was. I’m glad I watched. The attention to detail is outstanding. From the chassis, front bumper, plate latch for fuel to the two interior lights. And don’t get me started on the steering wheel…. I don’t recall the last time I saw a wheel with no buttons. Woof! Very nice. Nice car for a nice guy. ✌🏻🇿🇦

I love the fact, that it is a manual. The driver is the computer, the driver controls what it does and when. Only the tires are bit too chunky for my taste, but other than that, this is the _PERFECT_ setup for a Camaro. They thought about everything.

First and foremost, thank you so much for posting this almost kind of mini documentary about this street rod. This video is not just entertaining, however very educational. Whether this car is for Joe Rogan who I think is an amazing guy or someone else, that car is beyond words. My final comment is this, if ever given the choice between owning a spaceship or that car, without hesitation, I will instantly choose that car. Gawd that machine is exquisite.
