Roman was friends with the girls mother. He asked the victims mother if he could do a photo shoot with her daughter for the French edition of vogue. This was likely to try and kickstart the childs career as a model. Teenagers trying to find work isin’t uncommon, especially in the modeling industry. Roman had a duty of care for a minor and he completely abused his position. He gave her drugs and alcohol and forced himself on her, despite her saying “no” multiple times. This wasnt a case of Roman was out drinking and accidentally mistook a 13 year old girl for someone older. He literally lured her in under false pretenses and sedated her because he wanted to have sex with a child. Roman is a animal who literally planned and took advantage of a minor in every way he knew possible. It's not even like he gave her regular party drugs. He sedated her for his benefit, so he could have a easier time raping her. Why else would Roman be carrying a commonly known date rape drug in someone else's house for a photo shoot with a child. Also the fact that only she was drugged and he didint take any (why would he)points towards how is only intention was to take advantage of a child. The whole case was completely predatory in nature and he got away with it.

Rose McGowan is even worse and beyond hypocritical for calling Streep out. McGowan worked with and defended director, Victor Salva, who was imprisoned for molesting and raping a 12 year old actor from his first film and recording it. He was also charged with possession of child pornography. McGowan knew at the time she worked with Salva, and in an interview said he was a nice guy and that she'd heard about his crimes but couldn't comment on them for lack of information or the like. I don't buy her Weinstein story either. She acts like a survivor of rape when really what happened, in her own words, was the guy went down on her and she faked orgasm... Looks to me like regret and shame that she allowed that to happen, with of course legitimate anger that he thought he could do that to her in the first place. But a victim the same as a woman who is brutally raped, she is not.

Not even the girl herself complained. She herself said it was consensual, although illegal by the state. This is just hypocrisy from an America that finds young sex of teenagers discovering themselves beautiful, but complains if the same teenager has it with someone they don't agree with. Only two people can consent to this relationship; the man and the woman. Only a few people can oppose such a relationship; their own families.

It was about a 50/50 split on any public forum between those who thought he should serve his time and those who were prepared to drop the matter. Here we are a few years later and following 'me too', and suddenly almost nobody advocates for him. I've always said the man's a criminal who deserves punishment. It goes to show how hypocritical the 'public' is that half of them did a 180 based solely on PC pressure.

Worse than that. He got a plea deal where they dropped the five charges brought against him and let him plea to one lesser charge with the prosecutor recommending he only have probation. In the probation report submitted to the court making the case on why they were recommending probation they excused what he did because of his creative genius, being an immigrant with different morals, and said the victim had shown she was mature and willing to engage in the behavior. Once he plead guilty the judge ordered he report to a state prison to undergo a 90 day psychiatrical evaluation prior to sentencing him. But they ordered a stay on that to allow him to return to Europe to finish his work on a movie he was working on. And while he was in Europe he was photographed at Oktoberfest with multiple young women drinking beer which resulted in him being ordered to return to the US to immediately undergo the psychiatric evaluation. And when he underwent the evaluation he only was there for 42 of the 90 days. And the judge after reviewing the report had issues with it because it didn’t adequately address the case itself and claimed that he didn’t know his actions were criminal and informed the attorneys that he wasn’t going to follow the proposed sentencing. Once Polanski learned he was going to be sent to prison is when he fled. So yeah he definitely admitted to doing it and only fled when his sweetheart deal that everybody working on the case besides the judge were making every argument about him doing nothing wrong to get him probation fell through. In his autobiography he discusses the incident and claims that she never responded negatively to what he was doing. He’s never apologized for what he did or owned up to it being wrong to be with a 13 year old instead claiming consent and she liked it. And yet they all applaud him anyways.

You ever notice how they turned the OJ saga, and Polanski's too, into global circus events, like, forever? Trying and sentencing them in and thru the court of public opinion? We really didn't need to hear about either for just DECADES, without any end date. Hmmm. But there they were. And are. Prisoners of the Press. Both had young beautiful wives, both murdered with very similar weapons. Buck knives? Both under cover of Darkness. Both within a stone's throw of UCLA, and its notorious LSD research, etc etc Hmm. Not only was he able to continue making movies following the crime his movies have won six Oscar’s and two golden globes following the crime. But even more gross is if you look back to when he won an Oscar for directing the pianist back in 2002 or so. He wins the Oscar the crowd cheers loudly and it develops into a bit of a standing ovation for it. Hollywood is a cesspool when it comes to anything near morality. Hollywood cares when it benefits them to care but if they don’t have to care or if they face detriment to care they never do. But they’ll all band together to condemn when it’s convenient for them to do so. Weinstein was an expose of how the industry as a whole can know about these things happening but everyone will ignore it if it’s risky to their career or if they can benefit from ignoring it but will just as quickly claim ignorance and anger once it comes out. All things we all knew but just confirmed it and showed just how openly slimy they are.

SimplyMasonZero THE TRUE STORY .... Roman Polanski made the classic movie ROSEMARY'S BABY where he exposed the Hollywood oligarchs Satanic ways. For that they murdered his pregnant ex-playboy pinup wife Sharon Tate and her guests- known as the Manson satanic murders. If that wasn't punishment enough they had (FREEMASON) Jack Nicholson set him up in a honey trap with a mature looking 14yr old girl who later in remorse admitted to lying about being raped. She was a cabal child sex slave. The true story is intriguing involving JFK brother Robert Kennedy. Sharon Tate was part of his political team as well as John Lennon who later was killed in the same exact street location as mentioned in the movie - "here died a Satanist" The words in blood on the walls were HELTA SKELTA which happen to be the name of Jonh Lennon album at the time. These are the same swamp rats that murdered JFK that Trump is now fighting. Roman Polanski is in fact a hero who is victimised still today 50yrs later ... by the mainstream news WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? All the stories on Polanski are false propaganda. They keep this story alive as a warning to the movie industry of what can happen to them for crossing the line and keep to their "Eyes wide Shut" Those that defend Polanski such as the French movie industry and older actors know the real story. You guys unknowingly are spreading the propaganda. POLANSKI IS A HERO! PLEASE GIVE HIM THE RESPECT HE DESERVES!

He pled guilty and had a plea bargain agreed to with the DA's office; however, the judge would not sign off on the plea agreement (which is the judge's right, when they believe the deal proposed does not serve justice) and Roman fled to France because he had dual citizenship. In France having sex with the girl was not a crime to the same degree as here, so they would not deport him in order to save a french citizen cruel and unusual punishment. He pled guilty to giving a minor child under the age of 14 alcohol (champagne) & narcotics, and sex with a minor child under the age of 14 (I am uncertain about sodomy). When he fled the country he became a fugitive which is the reason he can not come back. He will go directly to sentencing then prison. He paid off the mom of the child and the child. Whoopi Goldberg came to his defense on The View. I have hated her since.

Myles Deeupe: Your victim shaming is a horrific thing. I was sexually abused & I counsel & support other victims for a living, I don't think I've ever seen such a heartless & thoughtless comment, (of this kind), before. Everyone reacts differently to abuse of this nature & just because you didn't react that way, does not give you the right to shame others who have.

@Del Boy I have read it & reread it, & so have a couple of my workmates, we agree that the way it's worded, & especially with the exclamation mark at the end, that the commenter is passing unfair judgment on other abuse survivors with their derision. I understand you don't agree, but we are both allowed to have an opinion. Your perception of what the comment was meant to convey may be coloured by your sympathy or empathy for the commenter, (or not, or in part), My reaction stems from imagining another abuse survivor reading this comment & feeling like they're being shamed. Yes, I was very angry when I wrote my first reply to them, & yes, I realise that I'm judging them with my replies. But unless they reply with something that shows I'm mistaken, I'm not going to apologise them.

The fact that they made this a big deal weighs heavily on me. Having to constantly repeat that it wasn't a big deal, it's a horrible burden." Geimer said the judge "didn't care what happened" to her or Polanski but "was orchestrating some little show." Americans are strange guys. I'm so confused about how Roman Polanski still gets to make films and win awards, despite being a fugitive for his crimes, (which I don't want to mention because it makes me sick). It doesn't add up. How can the academy awards allow him to win an Oscar despite knowing full well of what he's done, yet then blacklist other people who've done similar things. Doesn't make any sense; he should be blacklisted just like them yet he's gotten a pass somehow.
