His kicks against Olympic level fighters in a discipline he doesn't specialise in, if they have weight divisions he will be fighting taller guys because he is very short and juiced up on steroids and likely other PEDs so heavier than he would've been if he was natty.... In his mid 50s, I find it weird some people don't seem to realise that Joe wouldn't do well in competitive combat sports and hasn't fought at a professional level at anything, he did OK in some taekwondo events 30+ years ago... Not hating on you but it's just weird people seem to think Joe especially at his age would do well in any high level combat sport because he trains in jujitsu and is a commentator for the UFC.

This will help improve Karate as a whole. It was my first martial art form I took up. I even got out of it after only a few years (took up wrestling and Taekwondo the year after i stopped Karate). I think the elite level athletes with full contact competition will definitely grow Karates popularity, which in turn will grow the sport in every way!

I'm not surprised that theres no knockouts in ground and pound yet. If your head is not lifted off the floor enough, you dont have enough space to shake your brain, so with the 5 second rules you can just choose to turtle up or roll up In addition to this, it's actually very unnatural to punch downwards even with a mount. I suspect the first KO in this context would end up being a punch that hits the chin following an uppercut trajectory.
