@@LIamaLlama554 as someone who went from Boston life to the woods of western MA, our phones can be a VERY useful tool. We just need to learn some self discipline and how to use it. Getting rid of social media makes life better.

I’m 32 and I watch this with my 88 year old grandma when I visit her from Chicago in Indiana. I love how we can connect over your content and it’s been a beautiful addition to our relationship that will be cherished forever.

Joe is a delight. What a pleasure to slow down and soak in the words, sounds, and insights of the shared Townsend Experience.

The best thing about Townsends are the personalities of each presenter. They all feel like characters out of a period movie, and yet still so genuine.

townsends and joe pera are two totally seperate spectrums of my youtube phases and yet here they are intertwined. Now that I see it it just makes so much sense.

Didn't realize this was a reupload so I kept thinking "wow he's making all the same jokes as last time he was on"

Joe asks the best questions. I love how they're the kind of foundational questions that make everyone stop... Think... And give an honest, personal answer. Dude sets everyone at ease and brings out the best.

The fact that many people still live this way in many parts of the world and our grandmothers lived that way even during the Great Depression in many areas of the US gives one an appreciation of modern convienences. My Grandmother washed clothes in a huge iron pot over an open fire until a passing salesman sold her a washing machine run on a gas motor for a little pig. Grandpa thought it was a waste of a good pig! Lol!

I'm guessing grandpa had never done the laundry. 😁 Unless the machine worked badly. I have had times when I was washing-machine-less. It and the fridge are up there among my favourite inventions.

I’ve been to the shop and tavern twice now with my daughters and we filmed our “Townsends Roadtrip” video for our channel “Bushcraft Evolution” but we are so hoping to one day have a chance to sit down with Jon and chat. Love Joe Pera! He has such a relaxed, down-to-earth aura about him, no matter what he does, be it 18th century carpentry or entertainment. That aura goes hand in hand with the Townsends channel, so this video was definitely a must-see for me! ☺

This is the most random thing ever ... I recently became aware of Joe Pera, I've been watching Townsends for years ... somehow this makes perfect sense. It's funny that Joe Pera often ends up doing things that I think Joe Pera would enjoy doing. Joe has really developed the fictional character "Joe Pera" to be this living improv performance art. One funny thing about this video is, it's like performance art 'Inception'- he's doing improv performance art of a character, at the same time, as he is also doing a reenactment of colonial America, which is in itself a separate performance. A fictional character, pretending to be a fictional historical person, in a fictional setting.

Joe is my favorite guest on the show. Thanks for putting this compilation up.
