The great Joe Louis wasn’t “playing no part” he looked Cassius Clay in the eyes like a real man does and told him to his face that he’ll be on his bum of month tour. You not talking about white worshiping baby boomer or one of these simp @$$ Gen X’ers the great Joe Louis is part of the greatest generation aka “WW2 generation “ 1901-1927 son he knows Ali’s weaknesses and even spoke about them in a comment he made concerning how he would fight Clay and everything he said was absolutely correct.

@@coffeetalk924 Max Schmelling albeit an accomplished European champion was an older athlete when he beat Joe Louis. Joe had sat on his laurels living the good life thinking no one could beat him while Max prepared for the fight of his life. It reminds me of the Buster Douglas beating Mike Tyson. In the end Nazi propaganda forced a rematch with disastrous results for Max. I think Buster must have known about that fight and wisely chose to retire after beating Mike. My roommate knew Tyson was undefeated and wanted to bet me on that fight. I had been following Mike's story after changing coaches and read an article about Buster preparing for that fight. I met Ali , I think 1976 at City Hall in Louisville Kentucky. my wife worked with a mayor named , Harvey Sloane ,Alis friend .Ali was the smartest man I've ever met. He was so funny, he gave me some great advice ,and made me feel great about myself.😂lol. I was playing softball ,at Saint barts in Louisville . as I was leaving, I seen Ali in his mother's back yard. I jumped out of my car, and started running to him. He threw his fists in the air ,and snarled,at me. I said hey man, you can't let just anybody, run into your mother's back yard. Ali said, what do you mean I can't? don't you know who l am sucker . We started sparring all over his mother's back yard . I began to get confidence ,cuz I was getting in on him. He realized my confidence. Did a Ali shuffle, and through a six, punch combination, a quarter of an inch, from each side of my head. So fast that I felt the wind from the combination.😂😂 He let me know who the boss was ,real fast. Before they took, his license away, he was in his prime. No one, and I mean no one, even compared with him. We miss you a champ.
