Wonderful lecture, I learned so much! Especially loved the discussion of the change of keys in the Pilgrim's Chorus that begins at 47:00 and leads into the comparison keys with sharps and flats, and from there into the themes of the overture. I'll go back to this lecture whenever I have a chance to see Tannhäuser, which I'm seeing this year at the Met and hopefully soon at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
