My thoughts literally lol
Joe, in December of 2018, I got out of a very toxic almost 6 year relationship. And not to play the victim role but it was 90% my ex’s fault because of how she dealt with issues. She cut everyone out of her life, friends, cousins, etc and made me the only person she could talk to. So when she would have problems, of course I was the only one there to help her through them. however when I would tell her why she was in the wrong she would lash out at me because I didn’t tell her what she wanted to hear. Anyways, what I’m trying to get to is that I was miserable, but I too thought, well shit isn’t this what relationships are supposed to be? Getting through issues together? But I started to notice that at the time, I felt depressed and stressed and I felt like a middle aged man at the age of 21-23. It was rough. And because of that, I wasn’t romantic, I didn’t have a sex drive. I just wasn’t living. But after I finally broke up with her, I started dating a new girl and let me tell you, now I know what a REAL relationship is. Sometimes we have to go through a very very dark time to get to a much brighter side of life. I’m now on that brighter side of life. I can see you are as well. I’m happy for you.

Honestly, depending on what her troubles were, you really might have been in the wrong for not understanding her/empathizing with her. Many tough situations are hard to understand, let alone express to others. It takes many years even for people to fully process what they went through. So to just bail when she's having trouble too is understandable, but she's potentially not really at fault. The truest (ideal) relationships would work through those things, no matter how long it takes, to rebuild when all the baggage is over and dealt with. However that's unrealistic and expecting a lot out of the other party. That's why they say true love doesn't really exist.

Un1234l you’re right. Sorry, there a whole lack of information in my one post here. I didn’t want to go on and on but trust me, I put so much effort into helping her and understanding her. But like I said, when I knew she was in the wrong for something she did or said, I would let her know and that would make her angry. She couldn’t take any feedback unless it was putting her in the right. If that’s makes sense.

"Now I know what a REAL relationship looks like". Thats the problem I have right now. What is a real relationship supposed to look like? I can only base that off the people around me or what I see in social media. But even then I don't know if those are "real" good relationships either.

I'm so happy for Joe! Shit I gotta go to Europe now. 😂
Love hearing you two! Which episode was it where Joe mentioned how there's no healthy debate-culture in Japan; our elders only perceive it as a challenge of their seniority? I can SO relate Also, how he tried schooling his mom about the Renaissance and the art of discussion and how Asian cultures dont prscrice that. His mom then assumed he was embarassed to be Japanese for stating that.
Shout out from the Netherlands
13:57 Wheat gives me headaches too. Fatigue, anxiety/shortness of breath. Foggy brain. Bleeding from shitting (bright blood). You mention having IBS too Joe. It may be due to wheat/gluten allergy.
Come to Bay Area for da deep convo
Poisson = Fish. Wassup from Montreal!

In Paris, we just use Instagram to search the good spots. We also got a website called "Le bonbon" but I don't think there is an English version, so if you don't speak French a little, it will be hard to understand. We don't really care about TripAdvisor unless we are searching for hotel reviews...

17:00 Dunno if you wanna deal with those people. Never know if they're only with you because of your clout etc or because they genuinely think you're interesting/cool and would've hung out with you before knowing that about you.
did not realize how toxic Jessika was to Joe. Joe is going Nelly Furtado right now.
