    When do we get the part where we discuss the fact that nothing Cumia said was actually racist? The black community doesn't have a problem with violence? Someone inform the FBI because they think "Black youths were overrepresented in all offense categories except DUI, liquor laws and drunkenness." That's not racism, that is reality. Racism would be assuming that this problem couldn't be addressed. Anthony said the problem could be addressed.

    Eh, he does tend to assign collective blame on blacks while assigning collective credit to whites. To him, black criminals is a "community" problem, but with white criminals he pleads for a case by case basis and bad apples never spoil the bunch. When it comes to positive accomplishments, he considers individual blacks an exception, but with whites it's always a collective "we". "We" went to the moon. "We" developed cures. Like his drinking into a stupor between Long Island air conditioning installations was integral to the Apollo program.

    I've been a follower of OPN Anthony for the last number of years. i've chatted on the show directly with Anthony under the name BLACKREPUBLICAN. Anthony gave me a Blu Ray of Kickass once (video on my channel) I do not necessarily believe Anthony is a racist but I would find it hard to believe that he wasn't a racist based on the things he says with the conviction that he says it. That said, I agree with most of the things that he says- but considering they are usually facts- there's nothing to agree or disagree with. People who tuned into the Opie & Anthony channel Tune in so that they can hear what Anthony wants to say. The real problem is that the media has been emasculated and white men like Anthony aren't allowed to hold any thoughts - or express them - if they are saying things like what he is saying. The only people allowed in the media to say things like Anthony is saying our black liberals arguing with other black liberals. Black conservatives such as Alan Keyes are called uncle Tom's and racist themselves. The Left is so stupid that they attack black people who openly express conservative ideology or Republican ideology without even knowing them selves why they are voting Democrat. Not just black liberals but white liberals like Harry Potter Rachel Maddow. The Opie and Anthony show has been in a downward spiral since three years ago. It eas bad enough that they couldn't do homeless shopping spree's or anything cool and fun but once Patrice O'Neal died I knew the show was going out. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if serious doesn't renew Opie's contract. Sure hope he saved up a lot of money.

    Ant is definitely a racist, but no more than most people are. He’s just honest and more vocal about it, like a fun loving Archie Bunker type. He doesn’t think that people should be treated differently because of the color of their skin, he thinks their character should determine how they’re treated. Racism is a learned behavior. Listen to him tell childhood stories.

  • @quaid667

    @quaid667

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Lamtitude i think there is more to racism than learned behavior. When it's called systemic and end it there is not at all helpful. It just keeps the problem there. That why i loved the discussions between Patrice, Anthony and Jim. No filter. Just talking. And there's love and respect after the talking. That's more progress than simply labelling a problem. Especially when it's an extremely sensitive issue.

    Here's an explanation for Joe with something he's struggling with. He seems to not grasp why things aren't completely equal. Like "why do you get to say this but I can't say this without getting shit?" The answer? TALENT! Anthony has more talent and therefore more loyal fans. Anthony is a better speaker. Anthony is a smarter person. Anthony is a funnier person It's an important distinction. Joe is talking like he is on equal footing but he's a mediocre stand-up with an unlistenable podcast. I would find it hard to believe that anyone that has seen the main O&A stand-up comics live, like Norton, Burr, Kelly, Vos, CK, Attell and DeRosa, there is no way that anyway would think anything but DeRosa was the worst. If there is it would be rare. I wonder where the fuck DeRosa got this confidence from? I saw him live and he was so mediocre

  • @LightningNC
    @LightningNC10 жыл бұрын

    Joe DeRosa's issue, if I could hazard a guess, seems to lie with tokenism. He seems to think that when one person says something wacky, the other person gets to say something that will seem to the first person to be equally off-putting. But the point of a discussion is to figure out what is correct. Not for the sake of whomever is the one saying an idea, but for the sake of the ideas themselves. On Ferguson, Joe brought up unsubstantiated witness accounts, and Anthony brought up the autopsy results, which are, after some interpretation by the coroner, fairly empirical pieces of evidence. Joe's opinion of the event didn't seem to change at all. Even if one wanted to second-guess the validity of the autopsy reports (which is fine), that would've shown at least that the person was addressing the claims of empirical evidence. Joe didn't seem interested in it at all. On the issue with the disreputable radio show that Anthony found himself calling into, Joe seemed fixated on whatever his preconceived notion was, rejecting Anthony's entirely plausible explanation of not having had time to research every media outlet as being too "convenient." This is an issue where there isn't going to be much evidence, and it's effectively one person's account against another's. Anthony could be lying, or he could be telling the truth. The fact that his account is consistent with everything else going on suggests that he was being truthful, but we can't be certain. But, for as much as one could interpret it, Joe really seemed unwilling to let Anthony have his victory on this issue because it would upset the tokenistic sense of balance. Joe seemed to bring this sense of imposed balance up again when he cited having sat in the studio and effectively having put up with Anthony's opinions on Trayvon Martin and the related race and gun issues, bringing this up in an attempt to suggest that Anthony should then be putting up with Joe's current opinions on Anthony. It's not a fucking numbers game. It's about merit. You don't say something because it's your turn. You say it because what you're saying is right, or because you're trying your damnedest to find out what "right" is.

    It isn't about Joe being liberal or about him not supporting Ant, it's that he (based on his lack of insight on the Ferguson incident) makes up his mind without any knowledge of a situation, then assumes he's correct just because he's touting the "enlightened" status quo libtard viewpoint. It's not that he isn't entitled to his opinions, it's just that his opinions tend to not be based on any actual evidence.

    "When you break the law you take your life into your own hands" Anthony's response to that sounds so much like a cop out. So that guy who was selling loosey cigarettes had better keep in his mind that he's risking his life by doing that? That sets up a HORRIFIC precedent. If that's even a possibility for such a petty crime, then a poverty stricken person with no hope is actually incentivized to commit more horrific crimes because they have nothing more to lose. If the consequence for selling looseies is the same as murdering a rich person, then the poor guy might as well murder the rich guy and steal his cash. Social structure breaks down when society imposes extreme punishment with no nuance or compassion. However I severely doubt that was what he meant anyway. He is for all intents and purposes, victim blaming people for being murdered by the police. And all too often, we see people being murdered by the police for violating NO LAWS.

    I can relate with Mr Cumia, I live in Cairns Australia, on new years eve i was walking on the sidewalk there were loads of people an aboriginal woman hit me from behind with no provocation whatever. I felt a big hit on my back she had a rolled up carpet, and shouted to walk faster. If I had hit her back i would be in jail right now or doing community service. Aboriginals here have a propensity for unnecessary violence and so do women. I then proceeded to write a report online to the police as they have cameras which didn't do anything of course. Some groups don't care about going to jail and self defense works very rarely in front of the judge. And don't get me started on how much money they get from the government when they're not working and how much taxes I have to pay. When I was in London, we were living with black women roomates and they were shouting to the faces of many guys , literally one centimeter from touching the face, and they just took it. One guy had enough and pushed one away and she got him arrested for it as her friends were witnesses. She was crying and playing the victim.
