Well if this song was the french anthem i think it will make angry a lot of french X) Stranger don't now but in France you have an annoying sentiment of getting forget . Paris is not France . Actually not a lot of parisians think their city is France but it's more in the international viewpoint . The first thing you think of France will maybe be effeil tower the Louvre. etc... but it's a long debate and my English is limited so I wish a great day.

Fun facts - Joe Dassin was American-born, born in NYC and moved to Europe at age 12 with his parents. He returned to the US to attend college at the University of Michigan, earning bachelors and masters' degrees. Go Blue! After he died, he was buried in LA. As to this song, I don't understand what he's singing about, but the song is one of the catchiest I've ever come across.

It's about enjoying the beauty of life in a simple and random way, basicaly. You also have saint germain des près vibes in it. Hemingway, Miles Davis etc ... with a very Jazzy (and so US) atmosphere. Dassin as you said was a perfect mix of americano/french culture. He was realy smart and a great artist. Gone too soon. :/ Many of his songs just celebrate life and love. But with some sharp (cultural) parts now and then. But mostly popular. He loved laughters, friends, women, food, art, deep thougths ... simple life in fact. As said in that song. That's also what most french enjoy in life. He was perfectly integrated, and a huge star in France back in the days. His death was ... quite traumatic for a lot of people. Like loosing a friend. A man that only had love to give. His lost was so unfair ... :/ Some of his friends still cry him today, and did not get over it. I think even if you don't speak french you can feel his smile when he's singing.

@@djolelinx1840 Moi aussi. Lorsque je suis à Paris, c'est très rarement qu'on va me trouver aux Champs-Élysées du tout... par contre, les petites boulangeries, j'en fais trois dans la journée (ou trois fois la même).

@@elodieg9387 La seule chose qu'on puisse s'offrir aux Champs-Élysées de nos jours est encore l'eau vendue au marché noir par les "one euro one euro". Ils sont aussi présents sur les marches de Sacré-cœur.

To be fully honest, nice intention from the brotherhood, but it was awfull evil french singing indead. ^^ I was like " Wow after that massacer i need to hear the orignal, and quick" ^^ Cool effort anyway. And prefect song to create a contrast between the joy of the brain, fully "alive" again and what hapens to the doom patrol. The whole season had some french vibes. I suggest you to hear. Et si tu n'existais pas. A toi. L'été indien. And his darkest song. Marie Jeanne. Incredible song if you understand the text. A unique master piece.
