Similar experience for me, except I don’t think my sponsor is beyond his late 40s, but all the same he put me on to Joe & Charlie (like his sponsor & his sponsor’s sponsor he told me). Blessings be from The Heart’s Spirit & I 🤘✌️

In 2000 i attended a Big Book Study, conducted by my Sponsor in Mumbai. After the F2F meeting, once a week for several months. After covering Step 5, we were all asked to work the 12 Step Program after finding a Sponsor as guide. The Joe & Charlie Cassette Tapes were so useful then. Even now, when we are conducting a weekly BB Study meeting at the Open Door Group of AA, Mangalore, i need to hear the J&C Tapes again. That's why i landed at this video in KZread.🙏

I must of read the doctors opinion a half dozen times in the big book and not got the hang of it. Listening to Joe and Charlie once, instantly went in and stayed in. What annoyed me to start with in AA is the idea of spiritualism being shoved down my throat with no questions asked. Like when you ask you mum, "why?" and she turns round and says "because I said so!". That reasoning has never washed with me and never will, but Joe and Charlie have now explained what in the hell is wrong with my body and mind and why I cannot drink. Now I'm armed with that information, I can far more easily accept that I have a problem and I'm far more willing to go down the spiritual route to find the path to recovery. Joe and Charlie, Thankyou!

“”Must have” is the correct version. People tend to pronounce words and phrases lazily in spoken English. Expressions like “must've” in written English often sound like “must of,” and that is why we sometimes see “must of” in print, but “must of” is always incorrect.” Which is grammatically correct, 'must of' or 'must have'? - Quora

@@middleagemoto, that’s a bleak way to look at things! Yes, I am correcting grammar because we do that in life- show people the correct way to do things. The same as we do in the rooms. Don’t let someone wander through life making preventable mistakes. I pray that the blood of Jesus works in his life and that he is doing great. Have a blessed Easter!! Praise the Lord for freedom and new life!

15:13 here they explain one of the differences between the normal drinker and the real alcoholic, for those interested. **note that there are many more important distinctions between the normal drinker and the alcoholic. Here, they only go into one possible scientific explanation of said difference.

At 30 minutes and 30 seconds Joe and Charlie explain the difference between our bodies when it comes to processing alcohol - our body does not break it up fast enough.

The first drink won't get us drunk, but try doing it without it. The insidious insanity of that first drink.

The most dangerous part when an alcoholic is not drinking = is that now he is thinking about drinking

The main reasons doctors don't want to deal with alcoholics = because we don't tell the truth and we don't do what they tell us to do and we don't pay our bills
