Jays shouldn't have made the trade.

Cone is one of the key reasons why they won the ALCS and World Series that year. The trade was absolutely necessary.

@@KardiFan2000 It wasn't absolutely necessary. He won one game in the playoffs. They traded Jeff Kent for one playoff win. Not a great trade.

@@stumarston6812 He also pitched in the World Series-clinching Game 6, and was in line to be the winner of said game (until Tom Henke blew it in the 9th). He was a key acquisition, whether you accept it or not. Kent didn't reach his prime until 1997...who knows, he probably would've left via free agency by then (too many hypotheticals to go through, I'll side with a WS title over the unknown any day).

@@KardiFan2000 He had one good start in the WS and one lousy start. Not much to brag about but if you want to go on about how those two starts were huge contributions to their WS win, then be my guest.

@@stumarston6812 Lol...David Cone did exactly what he was expected to do when the Jays traded for him, pitch well down the stretch of the season (2.55 ERA, which was the best on the staff) and in key postseason games (Game 6). It seems like you're more upset about the trade than you are about Cone's performance...it is what it is. Would've been nice to have kept Kent, but Robbie Alomar was blocking him at 2nd base, if you look at it from a GM's perspective.
