Joe Bussard plays the original 78 of "Turn Your Radio On"
Музыка
From Joe's Basement in Frederick - We heard one of the most beautiful songs by "The Blue Sky Boys" . He tells us the fascinating story about how the young musicians made their first cut. What a perfect sound! "Turn Your Radio On" - video made 21 Dec, 2010

Joe was a legend to some of us folks, RIP brother Joe.
This song was featured on John Hartford's "Aereoplane" album and I saw him in a small club sing this song and encourage us to join in on the chorus. Never knew until today that it wasn't a Hartford original. Thanks for posting this. The Blue Sky Boys have a new fan.
Amazing how pristine this is.
Total Magic. I'm from the UK. I discovered lots of great songs that I played on my radio show
I love the Blue Sky Boys have a few of their 78s

I love their music too. Discovered them back in the late 70s.
So nice to hear such pretty and wholesome music that's free of irony and perversity. America's classical madrigals.
Thank you, sir. From the bottom of my heart.
Joe lived a long time because he had a damn good Hobby 👍
Rip Joe Bussard
What a nice collection, I thought I had a lot of 78's
Thank you for posting Rebecca. We need more wholesome music these days. David
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so Much for Posting!
Love Joe, but this one was written by Albert E Brumley in 1937, and this 78 was recorded on October 7, 1940. The earliest version was by Lulu Belle and Scotty on Vocalion 04910 on Feb 2, 1939. The Blue Sky Boys 78 you are hearing is very rare, and super valuable.
Sounds great.
I really like walela doin this song so good to hear the original
I know this song because of Roy acuff (I'm 20 years old)
Just got a copy of this 78 after searching for many many years. Really hard to find. Anyone else have a copy?
If he said music is gone an society back then in his documentary I can't even imagine what he thinks now, probably something like " what have I been sayin "
What the hell happened to America?
what song can't he play or else he'll cry?
Thank you! Were you friends with the Blue Sky Boys?
Where the hiss?
