The problem stems from what definition you use. If you just google and use googles definition. She would be right. Serial Killer isn’t a diagnostic term. Everyone is getting it mixed up. A Psychopath or Sociopath is only considered a Serial Killer if they kill 3 or more people. She is describing a Diagnosis vs the actual definition of serial killer. Anyone who kills 3 or more people in cold blood in a period of time is a Serial killer. You don’t have to meet the criteria for Psychopathy or Sociopathy.

If a person in the military gets satisfaction from his kills and does a little ritual or symbolic action I'd definitely label them a serial killer. It just happens that there circumstance allows for it to be done legally and without fear of the law.

He was a psychopathic killer. He displayed most or almost all traits for psychopathic behavior. Many of these people are in government, the military, nurses, doctors it’s not as rare as you think. Read a very interesting article about this. What separates a psychopath from going rogue truly is your foundational up bringing who you have around you to stare you in a productive direction. This could go for anyone but particularly psychopaths need this because their outcomes can become deadly.
