Both versions Madonna and Jody's are incredible and sung with such feeling. I never really absorbed the lyrics until i heard this slower version. Amazing.

Now this how you cover another artists song. You reinterpret it and make it your own. Beautiful job Jody!

Excellent emotional and vocal presentation!

The first time I heard this I was blown away... Borderline is one of my fav Madonna songs. Jody took it and made he own spectacular version! The two are so varied that they are practically different songs and that is why I can love both without detracting from either!

I really appreciate how Jody Watley’s version of “Borderline” is more pensive. She wriggles her voice with a dramatic finesse each time she sings “Borderline” in the chorus. I love Madonna’s and now I love Jody’s version, too. In fact, I would rank it as the 6th greatest cover of all time. Here is my top 10 list.

I’ve always loved Jody Watley & I had no idea she covered Madonna’s song Borderline. It’s absolutely incredible. I’d love to hear Madonna do Borderline as a ballad also Have Madonna also re-Record Like A Virgin as a ballad. It was originally going to be a ballad but Jody Watley’s version is just WOW!! I’ve just downloaded it from ITunes & listened to it 3X’s in row.

Madonna performed slower versions of "Borderline" on two occasions- in her first Tears of a Clown show, (which took place during her Rebel; Heart Tour) and then on "The Tonight Show," as it is Jimmy Fallon's favorite Madonna song.

SHe breathe new life into that song. At first I was like a Madonna cover? whatever! but from the first couple notes I knew, No this ain't no Madonna cover. This is some serious singing. ITs just lovely.

She brought the very best of these lyrics out! She took her time to articulate them. This is not a pop song! No diss to Madonna, but this is a song for anyone who’ve really loved someone and didn’t get the reciprocal energy!

This is such a beautiful cover song. Ms. Watley knocks it out of the ballpark!

I recently went to see Jody Watly in concert in DC. It was mesmorizing to see how much power she had over the audience. Nearly all of the crowd was dancing and singing along, even the people up in the balcony. It was a nearly perfect concert. The only thing missing was this song, "Borderline." It would have been perfect had she sung it right after her re-worked version of "Most of All." Even still, what a memorable night! Thank you, Jody.

In my book there are just the two artists that can go way with doing covers: Whitney Houston, Troop and, yes, Jody Watley. Enough said!!!
