I agree. However, for anyone to murder another human the way she did? takes it to another level. Also, to drive after you murder someone to another potential boyfriend and act like "nothing happened"? Yes, Travis did use Jodi for sex, yet she gladly agreed. Maybe then she was using him for sex as well. As far as I know, Travis never proposed to Jodi (which is clearly what she wanted) or made any promises to her when it comes to their future. This is a woman who accused Travis looking at under aged very illegal actually pictures, yet continued to sleep with him. Jodi is where she belongs.

I don't think he so much set out to use her for sex, Deanna, his ex girlfriend of 3 years stated when they broke up he never asked her for sex, made moves on her, suggested hooking up or anything although they stayed very close friends. She even took care of his dog after his death. I think he couldn't say no when Jodi was offering herself up, in text, on phone or in person. She was constantly pushing her sexuality at him and he was honest with her that he was pursing other women, their relationship as a couple was over and he would never marry her or get back together with her. I believe that he was naive to women as aggressive as her and didn't not see the danger as her obsession and jealousy grew. He had never had any woman around him that was similar to Jodi. I don't believe he was using her actively, as in seeking her out as all communication, visits ect were initiated by Jodi. If she had gone back to California and never contacted him again I fully believe he would never have reached out to her and continued pursing Mimi.

As someone desperately trying to find a time machine before reaching 30, I think that pressure to find a life partner exists everywhere. I thank him every day for such a good son in law. Plus at 38 they just had a little boy. They have so much more to give their son than most. Yeah I am 33 and feel like a failure for not being married or having kids and double whammy for having PTSD to the point I’m on disability so I don’t have a career and I haven’t traveled the world either. My childhood best friend has the Facebook perfect life, and it’s easy to compare my life to her and feel like an other failure. I grew up in a Mormon area where most people get married by 22. I still compare myself them to and I’m not even Mormon! Yeah it sucks.

Brain spotting is like going to the doctor for me each session and removing that stuff. It’s a technique like EMDR which access parts of the nervous system through the movement of our eyes as we learn to relate to and accept and transcend the feeling states from ptsd. Listen Girls there is no love from others that we can’t give to ourselves. Being complete on our own is so much more powerful than being completed or needing to be completed by someone else. The point of love really is within unto our higher consciousness. At that point there is no need only giving without dependancy. Being Alone is being All One with Live and the universe and everything living in it. It is a path of self realization and sometimes doing it alone is the answer to our true path of love. The union with highest form of live by embodying it for ourselves is without need. In fact All One is a very mighty choice even though it is the road less traveled or perhaps because it is the road less traveled is part of the initiation. Don’t give up on loving ourselves free from the confinement of how we see love with our egos. I know because I’m single and much much older and I’m so glad I’m alone and 100 percent happy with it! An interesting discussion. It’s very hard for me to buy the “she planned to kill him so she stabbed him first and then shot him in the head, then he got himself back in the bathroom “ theory. She’s very petite and he’s much bigger than her. Rather, this makes a lot more sense: 1) She shot him in the shower but the small, weak gun and caliber that she used, and the angle of the shot, didn’t kill him. 2) Having put only one bullet in the gun in order to stage a suicide, she couldn’t shoot him again, so she ran down to the kitchen to get a knife. 3) Meanwhile. disoriented, he tried to escape, stumbling and crawling about the bathroom area, finally finding the hallway leading to the bedroom. 4) She intercepted him and finished him off by stabbing him and slashing his throat. 5) She dragged him by the feet back to the shower stall, where she originally had planned for him to lie dead 6) She (very stupidly) put the camera in the laundry, thinking it would destroy the memory ship I didn’t come up with this theory btw. This comes from here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fWWkmK-uiLnSgrw.html He took the forensic evidence and crime photos to put the pieces of the puzzle together, and I must say it makes much more sense. One thing we can agree on is that he died a most horrible death. She should have gotten the death penalty. Instead she gets free room and board for life, and who knows what other amenities based on “good behavior”, paid for by our tax dollars. This is our pathetic excuse for a “justice” system.

Travis’ position in the last photo of him alive was seated, hence the poorly aimed shot that went through his face and missed his brain. One thing that intrigues me is the photo where Travis is turned to the side but looks startled as if she snuck up on him.

I also enjoy the digressions about movies, guns, cars, other cases, etc., the self-deprecating humor, and references to others in your field and other fields. It starts out a little rigidly perhaps, but then you all get into a groove that is compelling and dynamic. A power trio of nerds! I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of these! On a side note, my own recent experiences in a highly dysfunctional, mutually destructive relationship draws me to this case as I sometimes get a creepy feeling that something like this could’ve happened if it had gone on much longer. That sounds dramatic, but listening to this, some of the parallels truly disturb this listener. Thankfully, it ended without bloodshed, yikes!

(Suggested instead she made a last plea to go to Cancun) while the Cancun please is still possible, she very obviously planned that if he said no, she was going to kill him. Not only did she plan the amount of gas so she could be undetected, she also removed her license plates. (Or put them upside down I can’t remember) She also dyed her hair brown right before she left, and stole the gun. So many obvious signs that she intended to do exactly what she did.

Her behavior is consistent with male stalking. A neurologist who studied male stalkers said there are 3 distinct areas in the brain related to mating. Attachment, sexual attraction and romantic love. The purpose of romantic love is to make sure that "love is blind". It facilitates mating by blurring the perception of defects in a prospective partner. In male stalkers, the region of the brain that governs attachment was much larger than it should be. Usually, the male stalkers had already moved on to other sexual relationships. Some were married to other people. But they were still attached to the earlier partner and continued to stalk them. This behavior is associated with a violent outcome.

As a woman who just left an abusive relationship a year ago from a man who could have killed me....as the victim...I would never have killed him. She still stalked him. She still threatened his girlfriend. Truly I empathize with her pain of rejection....but she STILL killed him. If he was physically abusing her, trapping her in a relationship...but he wasn't. She needed to walk away. He was a jerk. My ex hurt me physically. I still didn't want to kill him. Please lets not let her get a pass. In the case of that young girl who killed her abuser and trafficker....I think she was justified. Jodi was a serial monogamist who had serious problems being alone and she used and abused several men in her path of destruction. She did not deserve to kill him.

Everything Jodi said about Travis was garbage, but his mistake was to continue hooking up with her just for sex when it was obvious she wanted more and obvious she was a nut job. If someone is stalking you, you don't hook up with them. If you run into a nut job like Jodi you need to RUN!!!!! Poor Travis, I feel for him, but men (and women) if you get mixed up with a crazy person, you must extricate yourself COMPLETELY. Don't leave them hanging around.

I think his addiction wasn’t just the physical sex. Obviously, the sexual repression that accompanies the LDS lifestyle cranks that aspect up to 11… but it was the toxic cycles of the entire relationship that made it difficult to leave. Reducing Travis Alexander to a man just wanting convenient sex is missing the mental anguish that comes from weak borders and the vulnerable need for reassurance as a man.

And this is where Travis enlisted some disapproving judgement during the trial - in that he deemed Jodi as tainted, even as he continued to sexually engage with her. A double standard. He was poaching her but considered her a “throw back fish.” How dare him. This is where he crossed the line. Mr. Duplicity lived two lives. She gave him every mirror opportunity suggested and he had rejected it yet continued to throw her a bone of hope. In her mind, they were intimate and that meant a future. She believed they were trauma bonded.

You have no clue about narcissistic psychopath behaviors and manipulation do you? Did you even go through the full case details? Dr grade himself probably haven’t. I have spent about 2 weeks now probably about 80 hours in total to understand everything about this case because I dealt with two narcissistic women and they have psychopathic traits too but not as high as Jodi Arias. First thing everyone needs to understand about psychopaths and narcissists is that they can’t emotionally connect with anyone, their love language is manipulation, control, obsession, attention seeking. Even if you’re having sex with them there is always that emotional disconnect because they don’t participate in sex because they love you it’s because they want you to love them more, so they know you love them, they love to see that intense love for them in you. Then take it away to see how feel and react etc. thats a form of control and manipulation. She was sleeping around, she’s not totally invested into Travis sexually, if he ever really called her skank, that’s exactly who she is, if Travis knew she is a narcissistic psychopath he wouldn’t have called her a Skank, he would have differently called her a narcissistic psychopath. Anyone whose dealt with or experienced some healthy relationship at some point will start to feel something is not right, that’s exactly what Travis felt. A part of him wants her but he understood she’s not a marriage material. She is a master manipulator, Travis is a gullible man, when he first met her for her charms, innocent cute, submissive behavior he thought he found a wife, he introduced her to everyone of his friends and family too. It’s always been a long distance relationship they never lived together, it’s easy for her to juggle dudes. After Travis broke up with her that caused a narcissistic injury and rage all that rage is hidden covered under the mask. The day she got to know he’s taking another women on a trip she lured into to sex through phone sex, she is the initiator, she literally moved near to Travis home after the break up. He broke up with her but he’s not committed to any women yet at that point in time. He was still looking, he got turned down by the women who he supposed to take on a trip with him. Her narcissistic psychopathic rage made her stab him 27 times, shot him and slit his throat, with in few hours after she went and had sex with another boyfriend like nothing had ever happened. Zero feelings, emotions etc it’s impossible to feel connected or feel like being in a healthy relationship with narcissists and psychopaths. Dr grande is only good with textbook or DSM definitions, he hasn’t experienced a relationship with a narcissist or a psychopath. That’s every psychologist is not for everyone since every abuse is different.

No one deserves 💀 death by another, whether it be my our state or our choice. Travis had no problem condemning Jodi’s reputation whilst he lived. He used her and abused her as he did not consider her ‘ Wife Material’. Sooo, that’s ok, just a different category of woman. Jodi Arias was literally furious in his rejection. I was so mad that I was too busy with work to watch this yesterday! But, it was definitely worth the wait. You guys are just too funny-I’m waiting to hear about more missed career opportunities. As far as the case goes, I think she was more into him than he was into her from the get go. She didn’t have a habit of just suddenly dropping partners before him, it was the opposite if anything. He must have been special to her. I think over time she realized she didn’t mean that much to him and her ego couldn’t take it-she had to make him pay somehow. Maybe that was when she started recording. Then the insult just kept growing until murder was on the table. But you’d have to be pretty self centered and short in empathy to go that far. I think he did use her, but I don’t have much sympathy for her regardless.

I love you guys but if you're going to talk about Mormonism, and yes, I'm not afraid of calling myself Mormon, please PM me. I was a very strict Mormon for decades and am now post-Mormon so I can give you the details from both sides of the aisle. The age 30 introduction thing.... is not a thing. LDS congregations are organized geographically, but in big cities (esp w/universities), there is an exception for Young Single Adult congregations, which are unmarried adults between the ages of 18-30. Since most LDS men are married by 21, 22, and the women often by 19, (though that is getting progressively older) the age cutoff just keeps men who are a decade older from preying on teenagers. And, since most attendees are at a university, it keeps the kids who are in the same general stage in life (college, grad school) together. Women also age out of these congregations at 30, so it's also not male-specific. At 30, they are expected to attend a regular congregation with children and old people 😂 But yes, the purpose is for those young adults to meet and get married!

Regarding the prominence of LDS people in crime reporting, I would venture to say that their unusual belief system makes the murder stories involving them sensational & therefore interesting and newsworthy. I seriously doubt that they (LDS folks) are more likely to commit serious crimes than people of other belief systems.
