I absolutely love the way Payton tells the stories! I also enjoy seeing Garrett's reactions. I like that he sometimes realizes or catches on throughout the story. He speaks up just as I'm reacting too! Lol

I literally cant get enough of these videos...as soon as there posted I listen

the self defense thing doesn't make ANY sense to me considering he was shot in the head, stabbed 27 times, and his throat was slit to the point of him almost being decapitated. THATS self defense??

It was toxic and doomed from the start , in my opinion if she didn’t snap and murder him , he would of used her for years until the point she either hurt herself / Unalived herself from the back and forth , control , aggressive sexual life , use of religion as control / a threat etc Travis had no intention of treating her with basic respect ( just my opinion here ) I do feel for her and see why it happened , however she could of left . She didn’t need to kill him to move past this , I’m sure in her head it was the only way but stepping back there of course were better options . Just two people who should of never of formed a relationship

@@mykitm7104 I just don’t understand why he would sleep with her and agree for her to come in the house , get in his bed and do sexual acts if he was being harassed the way he was ? ( If someone stalked me I’d be terrified of them ngl , sleeping with them and taking sexy pics is the last thing I’d do ) Personally it came across to me as she did some of the things , can’t deny that but he blew it out of proportion to cover his sexual life with her so Incase it ever came out people wouldn’t believe they were having a sexual relationship , make her sound crazy kinda thing , it just comes off super controlling to me personally what travis did , he was manipulative we can not deny that sadly 😕

I agree. I've listened to a few these cases elsewhere, but I still love to listen to Payton's storytelling, her analysis, her research, her sources and of course Garrett's reaction and questions. Often, Garrett asks the EXACT question I'm asking!!! ✊🏽

I live in Arizona and I remember getting in trouble at school and going to the ‘Sweep’ room. But because I was the only one there the sweep teacher let me watch the news with her where they were showing the trial of this case. So crazy! FUN FACT- the teacher and I bonded over this true crime case and I have her on Facebook, still to this day we talk!

I just came from apple podcasts and finally went to KZread to check you guys out and omg Payton you are literally gorgeous!

Jodi is actually in the women's prison that's right by my house and one of my neighbors used to work there and actually worked with Jodi, and she said that Jodi has absolutely no remorse for what she did

I recently found this podcast, i enjoy true crime stories but rarely get into cases. This is so easy to listen to and keep track of and you guys are incredible hosts too.

Been addicted to these stories! After listening on Spotify I go on to KZread and rewatch them to see all the extra videos you guys add on

I loved how you told the story. The case was crazy and neither of her multiple versions made sense, the state lawyer had her "re-enact" the last version to show how it didn't make sense because time didn't add up

Hi guys!!! I discovered your podcast a little while ago and it is definitely one of the best true crime channels/storytelling that I’ve found. I also appreciate the way that you appreciate how much research you put into each case as well as the way you try to be as respectful and informed as possible, especially when discussing victims. I think that you both do a great job and your passion , interest, and commitment definitely shine through! One thing I wanted to say, I’ve been studying Criminal Justice through my Master’s and now my Doctorate program. I would just suggest to be very careful when discussing domestic violence/intimate partner violence. For instance, taking Jodi A. out of the equation, it is possible for behavior and language to sound compliant and willing in certain exchanges, when those acts might be part of an abusive relationship and the victim may feel unable to voice their true feelings due to certain repercussions. However, I just wanted to say hi and to let you both know how much I appreciate your podcast, all that you do as well as other commitments that you’ve voiced (like the Innocence Project and Ending the Backlog). Thank you for all that you do! You’re master storytellers and I love your dynamic throughout 😊 :)

Completely hooked on you two you're doing awesome! I kind of hesitate to even suggest this case because of how tough it is to get through but the Sylvia Likens case is definitely a crazy one. Exactly! He didn’t break up with her because of their sexual relationship, it’s because she did stalkerish, weird things. His friends actually warned him about her.

@@miep7342 she did insane things all the time. Accosting his female friend, breaking into his social media accounts, his bank account, stole a ring from him. People shouldn’t gloss over the truth and claim it was about premarital sex. It clearly wasn’t.

Was it proved she stalked him and harassed ? Or was it him trying to make her sound crazy to deflect from his lies / sin from his religion ? That part of their relationship just made no sense to me , sleep with her and meet up with her but say she’s stalking you ? What if someone sees you two together ? How can you explain that logic ?🤔 Travis was defiantly having control issues with her , such a toxic relationship on both ends ( not excusing her actions at all) just so toxic and controlling 😕

@@ShaunWhatAreYouDoing I think it’s pretty clear she stalked him. There were numerous reports from friends that saw her behave this way. Doesn’t mean she didn’t manipulate her way into his life all the time. You also need to make allowance for the fact that men and women treat the act of stalking very differently. If a woman reported that her ex was spying at her from the Window of her house, you would think that was very creepy, when it’s a woman people think she just had issues letting go. Similarly people think it’s normal for women to read their partner’s emails and his texts. It’s not, it’s invasive and if it was the other way around, it would indicate that that person is controlling.
