Okay, I admit it! I am totally obsessed with Devante! Goddamn he was the finest thing I've EVER seen! That body, that voice, those hazel eyes...Lord have mercy!

D-Lo Morton Believe it or not, Jodeci were going to try the suit & tie thing, if you remember they were in the Father MC video ("Treat Them Like They Wanna Be Treated). Boyz II Men had just come out with Cooleyhighharmony and the Alexander Vanderpool look. Long story short, Puff came up with the idea that instead to lose the suits and come out with the baggy jeans and the Dr. Marten boots with the baseball caps backwards. Before Jodeci, that type of thing was strictly hip-hop, while R&B was more polished and clean-cut.

No Father MC's 'Treat Her' was...but this was the 1st Video with their own Song.

Andre chose to put another Jodeci single out- "Gotta Love." And it flopped- Jodeci was at risk at not becoming the Jodeci we know today. So then Andre thought "I'm gonna listen to this kid and give him a chance. I'm gonna take his advice just the once." He put "Forever My Lady" out as their next single and the rest is history.

I remember when this video came out . And I remember thinking to myself , " that voice (K-CI's voice) doesn't go with this style of music ". So in the midst of everything happening in the video . I could still hear that SOULFUL voice . Then when the next single came out (Forever MY Lady) . Then that's when the puzzle pieces started to come together for me . 🤩🤩🤩
