I will explain further (although you would have to have been there to see this). Back in the early days of TV (60s, 70s, early 80s) you got the impression that ordinary people who made good were there; they looked ordinary; had ordinary looks; ordinary teeth..... Ironically (until the mid 1990s), they dressed smartly for their TV appearance.. Today, television has become more staged and false. As Danny Baker said: quote: "in the late 1980s Top of the pops no longer looked like it was made by us, for us" And he was right. Look at football - it is now a huge business and the stars are a million miles away from the fans. The magic has been lost though. The dream of local lads making the big team is just that - a dream. There is a loss of believability in TV now. Even people who go on a game show have their teeth done. Ironically most of them (the men usually) dress like scruffs. The golden age of television is well and truly over - which is why I have now cancelled my TV licence. It's a waste of time and money in my opinion. There are too many adverts and BBC is a patronising, dumbed-down load of rubbish.

Darts was way better with Sid commentating
These two guy were good in their eras which is fine. But they wouldnt stand a chance in this era of darts. There are so many top players from all over the world better than them. Just my opinion.
Jocky Wilson died of a broken Dart! hahahahaha!
