Job seekers Introduction to ERP and Supply Chain and Logistics

Ғылым және технология

If you are intimidated by job descriptions or interviews that require ERP (Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, NetSuite) experience, this video should help. Here is my recommendation for getting the most out of this video:
(1) watch it and take cheat sheet notes.
(2) Review this cheat sheet before every interview.
(3) Come back to this video and watch it after you have had a couple of days to think about the topics.
If you find this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up. If you have a recommendation for making it better, please comment. Thanks!!

    Thank you!! Major Key to express: Understand the concept of what it means to manage product, inventory as opposed to, do you know how to use the application? The understanding is transferrable, trust in that, and go for it!! Super helpful.

    New comment for you. This was good. Not much out there for job seekers. I just got a job and they use BAAN but are switching to SAP. They also use Salesforce. My question for this video would have been to stay with ERP comparisons and screen views; especially "how does the ERP replinish JIT or normal, in these programs with a product composed of 6 products? What does the system do and what does the operator need to do to create a replenishment request, how to track multiple replenishment or how to create a report tracking in-progress or soon to be replenishment? SAP is so cumbersome, BANN is so cumbersome, I presume there is a lot of customization available for an enterprise IT team to fix up? HR doesnt need to sort through a list of a dozen fields unrelated, or forms unrelated, or even just 15 directories. Thats a non-end user gui, right. Job seekers need to see a basic day in the life of. This video should be one of several. You are light-hearted, a good speaker, and good presenter. Are there more, or are you gone from this portion of the industry? Thanks.

    What I Liked: Great concepts, presented in a very easy way. Keep your good listening skills, in other sessions as well. What can be improved: You may also give some introduction of the one to whom you were asking questions.

    Thank you so much for doing this. I've been out of ERP since 9/11. I was a Baan consultant, thinking about getting back into the game, but I was concerned about switching products. I guess my thinking is since I have never setup an SAP system or have worked for a company that run under SAP, that I would not be valuable, and thus not hire-able. You've cleared that up for me, that all ERP systems, by definition do the same thing. The difference might be illustrated in an observation that you know how to drive a car. Depending on the brand of the car, the parking brake controls and windshield wiper controls might be in different locations, but the basic functions are the same. Your overview is everything I needed - Thank you! I think it would be easy to switch to SAP, Oracle or .... I just downloaded ADempiere and play with that one too. Great job!

    As mentioned in the video, that ERP is the software where all the people related to different departments together and they can see their slice of the pie. So, the people can just see their work or everyone else's work as well? Does ERP work like goolge docs where everyone could edit and see each other's work?

  • @ChuckBoecking

    @ChuckBoecking

    Can other see everyone's work? Yes - if permissions are set accordingly. Does ERP work like Google docs? Yes - in some respects. Most to not have the real-time (see others typing) aspect of Google docs; however, it is a collaborative platform for sure. I hope this helps!

    A wealth of valuable information, except the volume quality is very poor. I hear the phone caller clearly, but Chuck's voice is hard to detect unless my ear is literally close to the speaker. I just heard many other youtube videos and they work in high quality volume. 4 stars only because of the volume challenge. :-)
